Hey everyone,i decided it was time to start a build thread on my project.I'm starting with a 1987 Toyota 4x4 regular cab truck with a 22r and G52 5 speed.The g52 was grenaded when i bought the truck several years ago for $100.It did run fairly well but i pulled the motor and went through it.I have since collected the parts to rebuild the G52 trans but have chosen to install the R151 out of my turbo truck instead.I also have chosen to replace the stock carb with a Weber 32/36 with a transdapt 1 piece adapter.I will also do a desmog on this to clean up the engine compartment.

 

The frame of the truck was pretty rusty from the cab back,so out came the trusty sawsall and i cut the frame off behind the cab.Then i lopped off all of the mounts for the bed and began tracing out my patterns onto cardboard and then transfering that onto some 1/8'' plate.Nothing hard about it just time consuming.I used my angle grinder with a cutoff wheel to cut out the plate.I remade the frame to the same shape of the original.A plasma cutter sure would of been nice to have.Then it was all migged together.I replaced the original crossmembers with new ones.

 

Now i just need to figure out how to post the pics.For some reason they won't load 100%.

 

New rear clip welded in and in Master Series Silver Rust Primer

 

Newly fabbed rear clip with 1 coat Master Series AG111 Chassis paint and Trail Gear rear shackles and urethane spring bushings.
