Those are some great welds you got posted.
Hi Terry,

Its a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Controller
They leave the Hayman-Reece Controllers for dead as far as features go IMO, much smoother braking, have been using these on our other cars for the last 18months and can't fault them.

The welds are pretty average, a little bit to many amps/not quite enough wire and I need to work on evening out my flow, but I'm working on it

TBH my mig welds are crap compared to Nat's

Argon delivered.... woot I will get a few hours to myself today to get out into the shed to do some TIG work, Nat's taking the baby to do "Mother's Day" shopping in Canberra (so all you guys, don't forget your Mum's/Wive's - its next Sunday 5/13/2012)

I finally found an Inclinometer in the right colour & good condition, so that's 1 more item off the buy list, so once it arrives it will be on the ever growing "ToDo" list !

Last edited by Kitty's 4Runner; May 9, 2012 at 05:40 AM. Reason: Nat's Welds make mine look like crap as you can see

That will be quite the rig when you get the "To Do" list is done. Well, if it's ever done since something always seems to be added doesn't it? Nice work.

Thats the kind of shopping I could enjoy. Both of those will make nice additions. How are you getting a longer range tank? Going to fab one up or is there one made?

I'll get Nat to fabricate the tank for me, have a 8'x4'x3/16" sheet of MG Aluminium sitting in the rack ear-marked for the auxiliary tank, trying to get an extra 120 Litres of fuel on board, will be handy for our Top End trip.

Need to find a set of poly air bags for my rear coils, to combat the extra weight of the tank in the old spare wheel carrier area. Do any of you guys have a recommended brand of Poly Bags I should be looking for, or for that matter brands I should avoid ??????

Kitty, search Zuk mod...it may do what you need.
Another option:

These ones seem to be the best from the research I've done... they are on my to do list...

much better option than the zuk mod since you can put as much or as little extra support in as you need...

nice new tool kit... happy mother's day...

That's uncanny, that's the exact Poly Bags I was looking at getting

Whilst Zuk's 1/2 spring mod is really impressive, it doesn't really suit my needs, The truck will only have the weight of the extra load (fuel & trailer) a few times a year when we go away on long weekends and once every 2 years when we go up to the Northern Territory, the rest of the time Zuk's mod would be impractical for my needs.

With the Poly Bags I only need to fill them up when I have a load on, the rest of the time, I'll just be running nominal pressures that will only really tighten up the rear end a tad !!

But again thanks guys for your input on my options

yeah kitty air bags are the way to go... you can run a little to take care of the rear sag when you're empty and air it up when you're loaded.

or even air it way up when you need a little extra clearance to get get out of a wash... [was gpong to say wallabee hole 'cus it sounds cute but they are a small 'roo and don't dig holes... maybe a tasmanian devil hole?... if you lived in tasmania...

Wallaby, lol, if you look closely at my Avatar, that's a wallaby in my lap, his name is Charlie

Wombat holes are the ones that hurt......

My Wheel Carrier arrived today, its in really good shape

Complete Kit Un-packed

Carrier Arm Locking Plate

Associated Nuts, Bolts & Caps

Number Plate Light Relocation Unit (trying to source 4Runner badges to replace Hilux Surf badges)

Carrier Hinge Caps

Old Number Plate Recess Cover and relocated Window Lock

Charlie's mother was killed by a road train that we we're following, we stopped & he popped his head out of her pouch, I couldn't leave him there to die, so his pouch became a pink shopping bag and a towel !!
