Jmoods 92 4runner rehab

Not sure this qualifies as "build" more of a rehab. That said I have been reading the forum for the last couple months as I do a light rehab my now 15 year daughters 4runner. This will be her car once she get her license at 16. Great site- Im a diesel guy and fairly active on the diesel forums but havent been there much lately. New mistress.

I purchased this 4runner from my sister who had owned it for the last 10 years. She was diligent on the oil changes but little else. So I ended up with a bit bigger project than I had hoped. Here are a couple pics of the progression so far... sorry cell phone quality.

Appreciate all the great content yotatech. I am starting the 3.4 swap in about a week.

Cheers, J

Interior

Started on the interior- my sister was quite the coffee drinker. It was roached.

Put in a complete carpet kit for ACC. and cleaned everything. I will chase down my real camera and get some finished pics shortly.

Then I spend a weekend, clean the exterior, buffing, stripe removal etc. Also put a small lift on and replace almost the whole front end. Had my camera for this pic

With new shoes- kinda torn on these. No rubbing but maybe more my taste than hers. Considering dropping down to 265's. I would lose the running boards as well but leaving them on for now for her. Sorry back the the cell phone quaility.

Carpet kit

Updated shots with the ACC carpet kit installed.

Did the cargo area as well. Paneling still needs attention- rear window finally fixed after 5 years of not working.

Overall very pleased with the ACC kit. Only downside is that the rest of the interior that I thought I had clean pretty well now looks tired.

Some real camera shots of the current state. Daughter likes the 285's so looks like they are staying.

New upper/lower ball joints + spacers
Inner/outer tierods
idler/pivot
wheel bearings
CV's
shocks- still waiting on my OME stabilizer.

I got my carpet from stock interiors, and you are right, it does make everything else look tired when you put it in. Great job on the rehab. It is looking great.

Super clean. You spoil you daughter sir. You mentioned a small lift, is it a body lift, because you're gonna need a body lift to clear the intake plenum on the 3.4 with the hood or cut a hole in the hood. You may already know this, just figured I'd mention it now.

Thanks all. Almost done. Still hoping to get away without the body lift but do have one in case. Hoods not in great shape anyway.
