be sure to check your clearances a few times when you are clearancing the case for the bigger gear.
do a bit at a time not to take out too much. If you do I have an extra housing you could use.

Clearancing the housing isn't bad at all I've done it twice now just time consuming I recommend using a flap disc alot faster

Alright so the case is apart and everything torn down, the grinding on the case wasn't that bad, I just used one of my daughter's washable markers and colored the inside and then spun the gear and checked where it was rubbing at, I just used my little angle die grinder, so now the case is in the dishwasher to get the shavings out and the main shaft is in the freezer awaiting the new gear and bearing. All in all it has been pretty straight forward, the small clips on the bearings were a PITA and getting the bearing off the main shaft with no press took a little effort, but now I am going to take a little break and drink some beer.

Well, after many "breaks" the 4.7 gears are in, Tcase together and in the truck, I just finished doing the poser "walk the truck down the street" and couldn't be happier, found no leaks so far and all seems well......I hope I don't jinx myself, I will get a video on youtube and posted later of the slow going

Damn that sucks. Time to get her a sweet 1st gen!

She is still driving it, she tells me that she is embarrassed driving it, and then I just ask her "then why did you do that to it?" She doesn't need another car, she just got this and swore that she would keep it for a while, her brother just got a new car which made her forget how much she hates car payments.

Nice walking vid. (we kinda look alike too, oddly enough...)

Also, on the wife wanting new due to her bro's new ride: in my family it's pretty cyclical, we generally buy cars within 3 months of each other, don't ask me why. It isn't like we're "keeping up with the Joneses" types either. It just happens.

Yeah she tries to use the MPG thing as an excuse but I told her that when she wanted the 4runner and she kept saying "I can't drive a car, I am a truck girl". Whatever, she isn't getting a new car, she gets a new hood, fender, bumper and headlight.

A little bit of an update, the fedex guy just dropped this off

I know, I know, if I put it on old ladies will scream, babies will die and my truck will spontaneously combust and roll over, but there is more to the plan than just a lift....see yotarob2005's build for inspiration

So now that I have the body lift, I have been thinking of ways to do the drivetrain lift, I want to do it as cheap as I can so I was thinking of ordering one of the center plates from front range off road and make my own T-case xmember

But, now after laying under my truck for a bit and looking at ways it would fit, I don't think I can build this one with the torsion bar mounts in the way, does anybody have pics or ideas of IFS xmembers they made?

Well, I was bored today so I decided to go to Brown's Camp, (it's nice being 30 minutes from Oregon's best OHV park ) I didn't run anything crazy just a little of Powerline and then I ran the Cedar Tree Trail. I love the 4.7 gears, keeping it in 2nd gear seemed just about perfect.
