hey guys its been way too long since i have been on here but i have made a lot of progress on the truck and still have a ways to go. I have my locker installed now and it has made an amazing difference my buddy cody installed it for me and it works perfectly! Ive mostly finished the front bumper and the sliders are done but my brother has been driving my truck for the past month or so, so i havent had time to work on my rear bumper at all. i have some pics of the build in progress and some of a couple wheeling trips i did.

The first step was to remove the front bumper so we could get to work

Im gonna break it up to different posts so i can try to keep my thoughts straight but i have plenty of time to work on my build thread because i just got my appendix taken out so im bed ridden with my laptop

the next thing we did was to build the winch plate and mount the winch to build the rest of the bumper around I ended up going with the bulldog 8000lb winch and it works amazing

http://www.flickr.com/photos/69769561@N02/8263619693/http://www.flickr.com/photos/69769561@N02/8263619693/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/69769561@N02/, on Flickr
http://www.flickr.com/photos/69769561@N02/8263616581/http://www.flickr.com/photos/69769561@N02/8263616581/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/69769561@N02/, on Flickr
http://www.flickr.com/photos/69769561@N02/8263617679/http://www.flickr.com/photos/69769561@N02/8263617679/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/69769561@N02/, on Flickr

I ended up pulling off the solenoid for the winch and relocating it under the hood so i could move the winch in closer to the bumper because I didnt want it to stick out any further than it had to

Then i welded up the winch plate and we started on the tube work

I ended up using hrew 1.75x.120 wall mild steel tubing for the front bumper and did all the work with a jmr tubing bender it was tons of fun and a lot of work but im very happy with how it came out

This truck has made an incredible amount of progress in this pass year without dumping a ton of money into it. It looks great. Be sure to get some close ups of the final products when you can. Keep it up. Gives me inspiration for my own.

Great truck, man. You've commented on my thread a few times now so I came over to check yours out. It's truly inspiring to see somebody do all of the things that are in my head for mods to my truck (bigger tires, rear lockrite and armor/bumpers. You've got a really clean one there, though. I'm jealous of you socal people, I'm trying to psych myself to work on all this after 22 New England winters. the bulk of it will have to wait for warmer/ greener weather.
Also, that's interesting about the gearing varying with stock trucks, I run stock size tires and have been getting anywhere between 9 and 14 mpg maybe I've got a pleasant surprise in my diffs as well. Or it could just be the mountains. do you know what codes coorespond with which gear ratios?

Ill also vouch for issue free cvs after BJ spacers. I have had mine in even longer than J&H with no issues.

I don't know if this is what you are referring to, but this kinda goes over axle codes.

4:10s for me at least my pickup has 4:56's!

And thanks for vouching for the spacers, I've always been curious to hear what people actually say. If I keep my pickup, I plan on running them! I replaced both axles recently anyway, so it really shouldn't be an issue!
