hey- it wasn't broken, just clogged
. the new one works soooo much better. i'm getting better mileage and acceleration. wooo
yeah, i do need to find some dirt to drive over. i found out that gw park has a bunch of trails, and is only 1.5 hours away. hafta go out there sometime

oh, and here's the "final" design for the rear platform. weighing in at a light 63 lbs!

and the original cat was bolted in, too

oh, and that tig weld ain't mine. a friend at school works at a performance racing euro car shop. his handy-work. he accidentally made it 6.5 inches, so he cut and re-welded it. still a pro job. i'll post pics of my welds (not nearly as nice, but still plenty strong) when i'm doing my platform

Hey Ian, I only mention that with a chill because EVERYONE in CA, at least, knows that TWEEKERS LOVE CAT's that are only bolted in..... it means they don't have to cut them out and make tons of noise! lol.
Even my exhaust shop said, .... "Dude, you're not using this flange, are ya? We'll weld it in with the rest for nothing extra.....don't want to give the tweekers any incentive to get it easier!" hahaha.

i'll think about that, thanks for the heads-up

not really much more to see. the holidays get busy really fast for us, so i won't be doing a whole bunch. i might take a trip out to washington forest in search of good wheeling places, but that's still a "might"

hmmm... is this a problem?

after 45 mins of ~55 mph with the occasional stop light, the needle barely moved
nothing else is wrong, no noises/smells/vibrations or anything. i've gone other times without this happening

i know, but $ome thing$ aren't nece$$ary. this is my daily driver, and i don't really need any 33 bfg at's right now. it already has 235's on it. my next mods will probably be some lights (on the brush guard and a light bar) along with the platform in the bed.
stay tuned!
well, it worked fine this morning. still, i think it's getting to be that time to replace stuff like that. thanks for the info!
and what "fit kit" do you have with your yakima rack? 16?

Not sure what you mean by "fit kit?"
It is the q tower set up with extension and load warrior.
I would pull a temp sensor off a junk yard yota, sodder it in place of your old one and you are good to go. Would be much cheaper than buying one.

sorry, i meant q-clips. they're the parts that grip the door frame and the pads that press against the roof
sounds easy enough. if i can find a yota in the yards here

I think if you go to Yakima's website and type in your rig it will give you info on a set up for it. If I remember correctly that's what I did.

yeah, on their site it says #16 clips. just wondering since the profiles of the door and rear window are different. thanks

hehehe.
