really, you can crimp any size. almost all of the terminals i used for my bars are meant to be crimped, but i wanted to solder them. one of the problems is that you'll need a heavy-duty crimper. it's like bolt cutters, but with a crimp-head. here is mcmaster's terminals. if you click on "compression lugs" you'll see that the sizes go up to 500 mcm (million circular mils). that's overkill, even for me. but they have all the common sizes below 4/0, as well.

Nice! "Be Prepared".... wish more people were taking that route today! lol.

Quite a 'EQUIPPED' rig! It surely is living up to the Motto of the Eagle Scouts.

before anything, nice build. not flashy, very functional, and lots of DIY which is exactly the point to all this.

can you follow up on the dome LED you installled? any more issues with burnt out lights? you remember where you bought it? i've been looking online but most of the kits they sell are either too small or too expensive for what they are. thanks

thanks!

the led board i got from autozone. i forget how much it was, but i'm sure i could make it for less. whatever. anyway, the one row is the only one that's out, and yet, the whole thing is still brighter than an incandesant.

you got me thinking (uh-oh) and i might do a write-up on making some for the front lights, by the rear-view mirror

Just for some clarification on that box (the high amperage one). What is the purpose of that box if you have the Blue Sea fuse panel? Is that to control existing wiring that you have in the truck?

The only reason I ask is that I am planning using the Blue Sea fuse box to control all my planned auxiliary lights. I was going to run a fused wire from the battery to the fuse panel and then using that as my base point positive.

Are you planning on running additional components through the panel?

the buss bars are more of an extension of the battery terminals, meant for any high amperage circuits, such as the starter, stock fuse box, electric fan, trailer wiring, and alternator. the battery terminals would be pretty full. also, the blue sea box can only handle 125 amps total, and with 12 circuits, that's only about 10 amps per circuit. i'm going to run a heavy duty relay for the box so it's only on with accessory power, as to not drain the battery. things like lights, stereo, shock compressor, etc will go on that.
