me too, hopefully the rear goes a lot quicker (im sure it will, cause I have a pretty good grasp on what im doing now), basically all I will need to do is modify spring perches, cut off the current 4-link, and re-weld in lots of new brackets, bolt in new/longer links, and a track bar, and 5.29 gears (front already has 5.29's

well, got some more parts today, needed a spindle for my passenger side knuckle and a FJ pitman arm (ended up getting one off a 88 land cruiser)

the one I found on a newer FJ had a curve to it, wasnt sure if it would work, looks like the one I got will work perfect for what I want.

anyone in the denver area who needs parts check out yoda jims, those guys have a huge selection of parts, and know their stuff. also a sweet return policy (bought some steering arms from them, then ended up ordering hi-steer arms, they just gave me a credit to my purchase today) paid $5 for a pitman arm and a spindle after the exchange

they will ship stuff too

UPS was good to me today

unfortunately work was busy today, so I basically only had time to get the inner axle seals in, new races/bearings and bolt on the steering arms

tomorrow hopefully will be slower and I can get my steering done

starting to get really close now, been working 14+ hr days at work since my steering arms came in, finally had a few hours to make a drag link and tie rod, still got to make mis-alignment spacers for the drag link ends.

at 9" of lift as it sits, it will probably settle an inch or so.

I need to make a track bar tomorrow to center my axle, now that I got the drag link done, I can successfully do that

finally got some time to get some good work done on the rear, got all the stock stuff cut off, new springs in, and lower control arms done today.

going to try to get the uppers and the track bar done by the weekend.

then its just shocks front and rear, front driveshaft, and gears and a locker for the rear

sits about an inch low in the back, going to have to build some spacers or something.

thanks, still a lot of work to be done, I sold my jeep a while ago, so its no longer a money issue, just a time thing.

Fall is coming, so work slows down until winter.

I've always wanted to do a coil/spring SAS on my rig. I'll probably end up just using stock leaf springs though.

its a lot of work, and a decent amount of money (I lost track, but im at like $1000-1500 or so in suspension stuff and steel. )

I also need to relocate the fuel tank to the rear (where the spare tire is) the upper control arms needed to go right through the fuel tank on the passenger side.

I havent figured out if im going to try to use the stock tank, or use something else and just do an inline fuel pump.

the whole bumper was made with a $1000 welder (probably could find a good used one for less), and a oxy/acetylene torch, a grinder and a LOT of cardboard. and a whole lot of time

bouncy no shocks on it yet

it seemed quite smooth after about 10 mph.

I have some brackets I need to relocate so they aren't welded for super strength yet

I just bought a new welder tonight, picked up a hobart 140.

soonish

list of things that need to be done before I go wheeling.

Finish my gas tank relocation to where the spare tire was (partially complete, but held in with ratchet straps, gonna try to get this done tomorrow)

Shock brackets and shocks in the front

buy new shocks for the rear

Relocate front upper control arm mounts on the axle side (welded them in place then tried to take the bolts out, but not enough clearance)

Pull everything apart and grind a lot of parts of the frame smooth, clean it/paint it

align everything.

Front driveshaft

rear 5.29's to match the front

probably other small things.
