Picked up the rebuilt 3rd from 85Toyman's shop yesterday
got it installed today
it went in with out a hitch. Nice to have the 94 back on the road. It would have been nice to have been able to throw in a selectable locker but since this is a DD an open diff is nice.
it's locked up front so that will do for light trail duty

Fuel Pump Access Hole Replacement Link:

So on the 1st Gen 4Runner it was easy to replace a fuel pump because there is an access plate under the right rear passenger seat. Basically posting this stuff as a reminder to myself to do this project sometime
I got to thinking about doing something similar to the 94, did a little searching and found this link:

The 4Runner looks great Robb!

That area looks like a park not too far from my house.

When I was little, my dad would drive me around to get me to fall asleep after waking them up in the middle of the night. My dad said I would always fall right asleep but wake up once we got home.

thanks, it could be. It's Cooper Mountain. We were gonna walk the trails and the little guy crashed. He was so happy to go for a ride. He can't quite say 4Runner but getting close.
When I was stationed in Alaska my daughter had trouble sleeping, Fred Meyers was open 24 hours in Anchorage so I would take her down there and push her in a cart, the employees all knew her!

That's the park! I haven't gone for a walk there since before they closed 175th for the new high school. It has been too hot!

Your 4Runner has come a long way from a car with a bolt stuck in the brakes to now. Great progress!

So I tried a set of horns off Amazon that sounded good for a few months, better than the dog squeaky toy that came stock. They ended up sounding squeaky after awhile so I upgraded to a loud clown horn. Actually made my wife jump in the house. Should make non signalling prius drivers wake up

In keeping with recycling parts from the 81 I dug out the S-Track tie down rails I had, a bag of nutserts and the drill.
Pulled off the interior panels in the back and drill a few holes
Ended up with rails under the window and along the floor.
Should keep junk in place when this thing finally get off road
Yep that Sea Gull looking thing is spill paint from a previous owner

Entered Yotatech's August photo contest like a bunch of members did. Internet Brands, Yotatech's parent company has really stepped up the game recently to get members more active. Found out I my post was picked by the random generator for 2nd price, the hard mountable ARB compressor. Stoked of course as this is something I always wanted but never would have bought since, well it is more than my original purchase price of the 4Runner.
FedEx dropped off a box today, saw ARB on it and was thinking cool, it's here and I'll get to figure out where to stuff the thing in the 4runner. Open it up and find the portable version. Crap I think, somebody screwed up and I got the grand prize by mistake. Fire off a PM to YT's account rep to let her know the situaion, its the right thing to do. A few hours later she says they messed up and ordered two of the portable kit and I am good to go.
Whooooohooo, OK, like any new toy had to see how it worked. The ARB portable kit weighs a little bit more than the old portable, has 100% duty cycle where the old one was maybe 50 and both draw about the same amount of juice, 45-50 amps.
Took out a Schrader valve, about 3 minutes later a 35x12.50 went from 0 to 25-30 psi and I could touch the compressor, no heat whatsoever

I think i will add wiring to the rear of the truck so I can plug it in back there

ARB builds one heck of a product, I had an ARB bumper on my old Tacoma that was awesome. This compressor is well built and thought out too.

That is a terrific deal, portable certainly has its pluses, especially a really nice one like that.

I was all ready to send it back, so happy they let me keep. This thing will take up more room but in the long run it is a good package, saves me the trouble of setting up a tank and stuff.
I will just need to find the same 5 pin plug, i would like to have the option of having it mounted in the back too.

Just ordered a compact ratchet off ebay
supposedly new in the box for about half of what it would have been at Home Depot, decent ratings
