I had to look back and you did make a tiny little mention of a huge kid, I'd missed it.
Two cute kids = more fun and 'where did that part I had go off to?' Cool. I like the pics, lots of personality in them.
Wonder if your insides look as good as the parts you painted?
Thanks hab. And, Im fairly certain the inside of my nose looks like I've been huffing paint. Hahaha.
More work last night, more parts painted. Decided to leave the transmission support brackets natural.
Upper intake took a long time to mask off, but I think it looks good. The next few days, I will be masking off the turbo EFI plate and painting it as well.
My ghetto paint booth. Works surprisingly well as long as there's no breeze. Or no one sneezes...across the shop...
Got a bit more work done. Can't say I'm super happy with it, but it's a decent 20/20 job. And as my wife said, this isn't a show truck. It's a wheeling/camping/DD rig. It's not gonna stay pretty.
Anyways, onto the pics.
As you can see, the letters started pulling and distorting around the edges. I can see a few possibilities for this including the black paint not being fully cured or the black paint having too much oil in it. Either way, like I said, it's a 20/20 job. Irritating, but still looks ok.

Thanks guys. Angel is the real driving force behind me taking my time and doing it right. If this were my truck it'd be back together and prolly leaking fresh oil onto the old grime already. Lol.
Little more work. More of the same. Stripping and painting. Angel was helping me tonight.
Also of note. The rariator is the wrong size. It's shorter than the factory one and the fan shroud won't work with it without cutting. Need to email LCE.
And, don't give me crap about the red fan. The stocker was literally crumbling around the edges because it was so brittle. So I painted it with the thickest paint available to, hopefully, help hold it together until we can go e-fan.
This is the old rad vs the new one.
And last but not least, I found my old skid plate from my 90 runner (which actually was off my sisters old 88 pickup; so, I guess its kinda gone home?) while I was parts hunting. So, angel can clean this up and get it painted white to match the truck. Nice to see it getting new life yet again.
To bad I was not around to help mask all the bits. I have been known to be really professional at masking and quick.
No worries, keith, I was doing that about 2am. Lol.
Since I was under the weather today, I played mr mom while angel did the work.
Skid plate. We decided not to go all the way through to bare metal. Just knocked the crap off and hit the rusty spots with a wire wheel.
Taped off the factory sticker on the fan shroud and hit it with some black. As you can see, this shroud has had a hard life.
Last up was a motor mount. Angel spent a good portion of time making sure it was good and clean before hitting it with black.
And like I said, I was under the weather the past 2 days with a stomach bug, so I got to watch the girls play in the gravel pile, play with chalk, and play with all the dusty things in the shop.
