So stoked to see you working on your rig again. And I'm happy to be hanging out again. Spending so much time with the Mazdaspeed crud corner carving mountains has made me miss just driving right over the damn things!

What's up with the chains and paddocks on the front springs??I'm assuming something to do with the previous A holes that stole your truck??

I wondered how long it would take for someone to notice the chains and padlocks. When I had the axle housing disassembled, I used the chains and padlocks too keep my wheel from being stolen, kind of like a bike-lock.

this sucks, I am still waiting on the spring bushings I ordered. I want to make more progress.

I am also waiting for Rad. hoses and tires for the supra. I want to get my hoses and power steering done in one shot. I hope to have the supra parts by tomorrow.

I HATE WAITING.

Thanks man, it is good to be back. I have been trying to get back on the trail, but I do not want to do so with sub-par parts. Besides money is still kind of tight, and my brother is borrowing my starter and Battery, for his custom cab. The borrowing is about to end soon though.

I would love to be out there, and hope to do so this fall. If our weather continues, the wheeling season my be extended well into December. I certainly want to hit up Usal road this winter.

I have lots of hobbies, and right now the yota is the hobby that is getting all of the attention and funds.

Whats new on your end buck87? Do you have any wheeling planed?

 

I went to Niagara Rim with the club last weekend. The annual bar-b-q run. Great fun, something for every one on the trail and 2 nights of camping in a beautiful camp ground.
We did Slick Rock in June the weekend after Memorial day and it is becoming a little more difficult. My wife and I camped by the creek and had the place to our selves. I am pleased to report that there was not much litter left behind after the long weekend.

 

I have wanted to run Niagara Rim for a while now. The trail must be easier then I have seen, or thought, because if I remember correctly, your runner is not all that heavily modified; unless you have made major changes to your rig that has not been posted on your build thread.

when I am ready to do a trail run, I will pick something fairly easy, just in-case there is an issue I have overlooked with my new rig. I currently only have about 20 mile behind the wheel time with the 89; I do not what any surprises.

 

She has the basics: lockers, sliders, 33's and gears. Niagra has bypasses and a playground like area called the Rock Pile for those who don't mind breaking stuff.

 

UPDATE, So, now that I got conformation from Summit that my future shipping date, for the front bushings may not occur until the 13, Sep. 2014 (I am very frustrated). I went out too look at what else I could do to the rig until the bushings arrive, I noticed this from a distance:


I could not believe my eyes. This confirms my thoughts about the individual who built this truck (What a !@#$%^&* dumb !@#$%^&* *&^%$#@!), and tells me I need to check every single modification that has been done to the truck, prior to me buying it. I am truly blown away by the incompetence.

Never have I heard or seen that a tapered locking nut can loosen of it's own accord.

I will let you know when I need some extra hands. Im getting temped to do the body lift and T-case.
