the sway bar helps with cornering most and wind sway

its not hard to work on or repair unless the end is broken off replacement bushings an endlinks are easily available on fleabay for a quick rebuild of them swaybar rebuild kit under 30 bucks

Well i'll prob keep it there(sway bar)....cuz i tend to take turns a little fast sometimes...must be the young and dumb part of me.:/ i'm working on my lead foot. It's just so heavy hahaha

On a side note though isn't there a steering stabilizer up front too....kinda reminds ya like a shock runs horizontal?

Yeah, the steering stabilizer is a shock, it keeps backlash in the wheel or on big bumps down, keeps the wheel from being jerked from ur hand. Sway bar stops rolling and sway in the turns. ... I don't miss mine. I can't remember if I mentioned, but it WILL limit flex. I can't say you shouldn't use it either. ... Cud always remove it.

yep actually its a steering damper (same thing) it helps to keep the road from wearing out your arms an the steering box

newer 4x4 have electric disconnects for the end links just so you push a button an they allow more flex push the button again an 'click' they're locked back on keeping body roll down

my roommate kris went wheeling with a group of guys with jeeps an some newer rigs a hummer an a landrover i think (dont quote me) it was the land rover that had the disconnects if your wanting to disconnect yours you might be able to do the same with a clevis pin kind of setup

some google'ing might come up with some interesting project options

The parts stores sell a rebuild kit for the sway bar. It isnt hard to change at all. It cost arond 20 to 30 dollars if I recall right. I would leave it on just to keep the front end a little more solid. In my personal experience, having a great looking truck is nice but if it isnt fun to drive or wears you out when driving it, it takes the joy out of it. I would suggest to eventually fix or upgrade those things that effect the driveabilty of it even if it isnt necessarily safety oriented.

Looks like you got the tranny out. Want so ba was it? Putting it back in is more of a chore, but I have some long bolts that I connect the tranny and engine and sort of use them as giude/aligning pins.

I know that it doesn't matter very much to you anymore, but for future reference, a crack that size is easily repaired by an auto glass repair shop. Congrats on your accomplishments! That is a lot of stuff to do for a 17 year old!

I busted out my step dads back window today. NOT ON PURPOSE, complete accident wasn't paying attention and sent a scaffold buck right through that puppy, so on the hunt for a back glass....and info on here how to do it.

Nothing new on the truck really....been so snowy and cold

well the rear glass could be quite easy to get check with your local car glass people (safelight ect) for prices they install as well

if you find a used one the gasget is likely going to be your biggest pain they get stiff an crumble if his old one is flexible clean the glass up (the newused one) make sure you take a moment to fix any rust along the metal edge while the window is out
install the rubber to the window put a length of laundry line rope (thin but strong white is the usual color) least a foot of slack on the ends to grip around the entire window in the channel the metal will sit in kinda like this

"cord -> o][- <- glass"

one person in the truck the other outside spray a bit of armor all on the rubber in the channel (lube so it'll slip over the metal edge easy) start at the center an pull the cord while person outside pushes firmly but gently to get the window in work all the way around the window till you have it in

its not easy but the glass guy will do it the same way he just has practice
youtube has a lot of vids on it

His gasket doesn't appear to be too bad. I'm gonna look locally for an original before going through glass people....hoping it be cheaper and the fact that the local people stink at doing glass. Any ball park guesses on how much it would be if i had it done by safelite or someone like that.

i got a new windshield for my 79 hylux with new gasket and added tint bar at the top for 180 installed that said a flat rear window should be cheaper by far
