Take it easy, you get yourself to wore down and you will come down with something. I find the best way to get over a cold or flu is to get some soup and fluids in me and put on some sweat pants and sweat shirt and stack the blankets on. I take a sleeping pill so I wont wake up and kick the blankets off when I get hot and you will start sweating really bad. I lay on top of a towel and still have to wash the sheets from the sweat, but it will shorten the length of a cold or flu.
I take very little medicine in a year. I can usually go a year without taking any form of medication and that includes sleeping pills. I just do that to get over a cold or something.
Docs are under pressure to prescribe something to alot of people, but if you give yourself sometime to build up an immunity, you can usually get over something or miss it all together. Those that hit the medicine cabinet anytime they get the sniffles are normally the ones that catch everything that comes along. Hope you get to feeling better and thing settle down for you. Got you in thoughts and prayers.

RAD's All-Natural Flu-cold Remedies
It's the cold, holiday season. Many people stay in close quarters indoors, shaking hands, kissing, hugging, coughing and sneezing at each other. In bootcamp, we all got the recruit crud. People bring their favorite viruses from everywhere in the U.S., including territories, that others are not immune to.
After decades of trying to find best remedy for my symptoms (You cannot kill a cold or flu- they'll take their courses) I have narrowed it down to 3 best and natural things things:
After decades of trying to find best remedy for my symptoms (You cannot kill a cold or flu- they'll take their courses) I have narrowed it down to 3 best and natural things things:
- Day remedy for scratchy throat: Ginger tea.Boil crushed ginger, in water in low setting for as long as you please. Sweetng with honey. Sip (not gulp- this is not nutrition; this is remedy for scratchy throat). As soon as that touches a scratchy throat it works instantly. This is actually an old-fashioned drink popular among choirs in my youth.
- Nighttime remedy for scratchy throat: Scotch... cognac... or your choice of hard drink.
. Also search "Toddy" - Sore throat: Plain saltwater gargle.

Thanks, Richard, RAD, lol... Funny, Richard... And you're welcome to some, no worries... I've been making and perfecting soups for 25 years. I make a MEAN Chicken Noodle or AVGOLEMONO! lol.
Thanks, RAD, Yeah..... I have Gypsy Tea, ...always use it. IT'S ALWAYS helped for me. I actually think I caught it in time... I've still not had much of any symptoms... Only a lil groggy and sore glands, lol. Gypsy tea is LOADED with Ginger and many other properties(mostly roots) that seem to REALLY expedite the natural process. Luckily, I've not had a stomach flu in over 10 years(IIRC)... Just the sinus thing and drainage to throat, etc. Cough it all up and after a few days... you're done. BUT, we should still keep clear of loved ones... especially the elderly, PERIOD, no exceptions! A common cold can take them out.... Forget the 5 days thing!

Hey, BTW, guys;
Couple questions:
1. If my rear window is going up slow at times... (more slow when the rig is not running)... Is it likely due to a tired motor? It's NOT bothersome enough to tear it apart again right now... Just want to know for future reference... Anyone resto'd those?
2. It's MUCH less often, but I still have a scary "KLUNK-PINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG", at times, when taking off from a stop. Especially in parking lots when I've backed up and then am taking off. It REALLY seems to be from the back end. I've heard many times, "That's just your locker, letting you know it's there. On occasions, it will start off with the limited(locker not engaging) and as you take off, it finally locks up and POP-PINGGGGGGGG"....... But it's SO LOUD, startling/feels to much like two 10# sledges banging together... It's concerning. lol. I did video a bit back of my u-joint tests... etc. I don't think that's it.. BUT, it does have the 'PINGgggggggg' FACTOR, along with the more goosebump causing "CRACKKKKKKK" ....... WTH should I expect, if anything, to happen? My rear end to blow up on the trails? lol
3. I've been through two Temp Gauges... and now, I have one that seems to work for the most part(My old would just would stick.. THEN SHOOT UP or drop off to zero out of nowhere/Not shoot up to dangerous hot, ...just like it wasn't on, then was). With my luck, it's likely coincidence, not the wiring/tape wires, therein. BUT, the fact that I could slap on the cluster and make it come out of it and reveal the temp, on the last one.... that tells me it was the gauge itself, right? Now this one, it seems to just always be at 1/3rd. Starts out there even. I'll tinker with the sending unit here, soon. And when I swap out heater control valves to the 3rd Gen PU one I have(Plastic), while trying to fix my climate control cables... I'll swap in the donor sending unit I have. It's in perfect shape, as if it was replaced on this PYP rig....BUT, obviously, it seems like my problem with the gauge is 'IN THE DASH' or 'WIRING-THEREIN', right?
4. Wondering why my front brakes 'Pin-Style Springs'/Keepers snapped off on the one side... It's wedged in there so that I have to remove the pads again... So I'll likely do that and run these until I wear out these OEM pads.... THEN start over with the V6 Calipers and T100 Master... It's just strange, because I've done my own brakes for 25 years, never had a problem with these retainer springs sheering off like that. WTH?
5. What should I get myself for my birthday? hahahaha. Honestly, while I don't always go nuts with that... I really am the only one to give myself a really substantial gift(I don't care about that stuff... I just want my families company, so they don't go crazy, as I've asked them not to).... I was thinking about speakers... just as an "Every 15 year upgrade", hahaha... BUT, I don't really NEED them, ya know? That's a tough one for me. I know I'd LIKE the results, most likely... but...... Ya know? I also thought of grabbing a 'carpet kit' .... Also not really needed... and the 'enjoyment thereafter' factor would be even less than the Speakers, lol. So, I'M REALLY leaning toward "Sliders", as I have a dude to help me. I've pondered and gotten close to grabbing the front and rear bumpers, too.. BUT, ... don't really NEED those, either(especially since I have a brand new OE Rear bumper that looks really good. I figure, "If I smash it up.... THEN I'll think about grabbing a 4xinnovations rear or maybe CBI... REALLY like the more 'ARB'ish' looking stuff to the tubes... BUT, LOVE the tubes, too, lots. Wish I had a skill set like many of you on that stuff.. I'd just take my time and do it myself... Just don't have the equip. or time really.
6. I'm REALLY torn as to whether or not to try the Dakota Springs. OBVIOUSLY it would be easier to go OMEmu or find some old Downey Packs and maybe reinforce em a bit. BUT, if I just get a hanger kit.. maybe these would give me EVEN BETTER flex than the OME's or the like... and softer ride, lil lift to get me back to 'post ZUK' results, etc.. right? Wrong? Yes, no, maybe so? hahaha. Just trying to stir up some talkyjiuwaiah, ya know?

Hey man, I might have missed this. When is your birthday? My girl and both have our birthdays coming up too. My Faby's birthday is Dec 5th and my birthday is December 13. We should do another off road trip one of these days for a birthday offroad trip. Lol

WHAT? You don't have sliders? Sliders for the peace of mind and confidence on the trail. I think that Stubbs are bolt on. A wise friend told me that every time you spend money on traction you need to spend some money on armor and recovery.

Hey Mark. If u plan on possibly a CBI bumper like me then u better keep up with their website. They're having a different sale every week on different products. I'm just waiting for them to upload the 1st gen 4runner/pickup bumper to jump on it.
I've already seen most bumpers for other vehicles go for $100 cheaper then the regular price.
And the one for our trucks normally sell for $456 plus extra tube stuff like grill guard, light guard etc and those extras can be included for additional cost, but still... I I was to get $100 off that bumper then ill definitely jump on that deal.

With a cold at night I like to take a "speedball" concoction I came up with...
a large mug of Lemon Neocitron with a heavy shot of dark rum & 1/2 tsp. ground ginger & 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper and a small dollop of honey... mix well and drink down while warm.
You'll sweat like a pig under the covers and have some truly unique vivid dreams... kinda like going on a vision quest... the cold will be gone in 3 days if you dose up each night...
never heard of "Gypsy Tea" Mark... where do you get it? health food store?

Hey Richard...
Thanks for the heads up, man... In case I'm in a state of overwhelmed fuzzy brain status.... when the sale comes... could you remind me that it's on? I'm still up in the air on that... I LOVE the 4Xinnovations one that's 2 layer.... VERY beefy, lol. But while I like the TG and 4xi and Marlin and Scotty's Tube style fronts... They've just not grown on me like the rears have... I LOVE the Iron bull style the best... but they don't make one for mine. It's KINDA like the ARB in design.. .but more curves to it, yet not tube. More of a 'District 9' type, IIRC, hahaha.
OK, first, I've GOT to share this motion/pic.... hahaha......

But this is the Toyota Tundra with one..... LIL much on this one.. but you get the idea on the shape thing.. AND, they do have ones with Grill Tubes built in on top... Like Stingers.........

But these are NOT cheap, like the ARB... so I'd likely not go that route. If I went WAY up in the 'available budget' dept., .... MAYBE, but I'd rather take that 1000$ and take a welding class
haha. Would be cheaper than that at SCROC, Torrance, CA.
Anyway, sorry for the tangent... I LIKE the CBI rear bumper with carrier...... BUT, ... seeing that 98% of my driving is DD and City at that..... I think I can deal with not having the extra stuff on there... But WOW, I LOVE the ones I've seen with the Tire Carrier and Jerry Can stuff's!
Hard to say. 461$ in DIY form, eh Richard? That's the "w/everything" one?

Matt... Thanks, man! I'll take all the info I can get. I have a buddy who'll help me slap on the 4XInnovations sliders, which are 165$? Not sure I can beat that deal, right? In fact, he said he could make them if I just get the DOM or HREW or whatever. I've been wanting to do that, first, .... said so many times... Just... EVERY TIME i START on something, a hurricane of crises hit me, hahaha. Coming up soon, VERY SOON, either way things turn out... I'll have MUCH more free time(well, in comparison to now and what I've had over the last year?
haha)

That brings me to my Stepfather...
He was extibated today(they removed that tube down into the lungs).... And he did well. He's breathing on his own and appears to understand most everything. He's still not speaking... OBVIOUSLY(I wouldn't with a tube down my throat for a week, either, most likely, right? haha)... But what I mean is... he wasn't speaking, often, AT ALL, long before this. He'd gotten better... over the last month or so before this.. BUT, his dementia puts him in states where he just doesn't say much at all for days, ya know?
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers... I can't know what tomorrow holds for him... He could reject being out of intibation after a few days... And then he's not likely to make it, as he's very specific in his Advanced Directive.. "Do not RE-Intibate"... But, considering his heart is like new(at least for him)... it's not as likely that he'll fail. Facing the fact that he'll be living from now on in Assisted Living? That's an ENTIRELY different crises he's going to have to face.... I sure hope it doesn't defeat him... But it's become the only option, sadly for him. It will for many of us... And all I can add to this, from me to you? MAKE SURE you have an Advanced Directive, AT LEAST, for the DNR orders, Organ Donation, etc. If you do NOT have one... And you don't want to be kept alive on machines as a 90% Vegetable... Than you'd better make sure you've got one. Just a suggestion from a friend, that's all

BTW, Guys;
I picked up the mounting hardware for the 6x9's(#8-32 Machine Thread Rivnuts/that sink into wood and Hexbolt/Phillips #8- 3/4" Machine Screw Bolts and #8 Lock Washers and Flat Washers)... So there will be NOOOOOOO stripping and easily removable if necessary
I also picked up an early Bday present to myself in a Ryobi Variable Speed JigSaw with LED and so on for 29$... I hope that's good... Seemed pretty good compared to HFreight even. Whatever, it's what I got and I can't spend 100$ on a sale priced Dewalt, etc.... So It'll do for what I need it for

Hard to say. 461$ in DIY form, eh Richard? That's the "w/everything" one? But hell yea I totally dig those Rear bumpers with the jerry cans too. But unfortunately its only the bumper stuff. AND you still need to buy a hinge thing-a-ma-jig(i forget what theyre called. Spool? i dunno) Also they dont come with the jerry cans. That is extra as well.
But yea i agree. I love the looks of their rear bumpers too. Very nice!

Oh yea!
i want me one of those too.But the front bumper is first on my checklist.

Just as sexy as the rear
Hope they include it on their Christmas sale cuz i'll definitely buy it.

Me 2! lol... I want a V8 Rocket 4Runner that gets the same or better mileage than my NON-Rocket 22RE 4Runner, hehehe. BUT, .... actually, I'm good. NO desire to have payments on ANYTHING.. This is mine, paid for in full... I could put EVERY SINGLE mod on this thing that I want and MORE.... much more.. And still not EVER come near the full price of that thing up there, haha.. BUT, don't take that the wrong way, guys.. I IN NO WAY am dogging people for having new vehicles.. I get it. We got my mom that CRV in 2003, brand new... It's been a great vehicle for her.. and it's pretty much mine now as I'll be taking it over as she drives less and less. The people I cook for have a CRV as well.. 2011... It's VERY nice.. I'm SHOCKED how far it's come in just 8 years, ya know?
haha.
No, I TOTALLY get wanting a new car/and the positive portion of building credit through such things... It's a good thing, as long as they KNOW they'll be able to afford it/maintain it, it's a nice thing to have. I just see so many people in trouble with rent in a DUMP, single apartment.. But they drive an Escalade at like 650$ a month once they get full coverage, etc.? Hey... whatever floats thy proverbial boat, right? lol.
