Roger(4crawler), got me thinking..... "Do I want them WAY BRIGHTER in my above head area?/facing me?".... Or will 'as bright/the same light and way less power usage' be a good enough goal to shoot for?"......... I chose the 'less power and 'enough' light option. HOWEVER PART 2
; These are a DIRECT fit, ... no trimming or removing anything or such, in regards to the 1st Gen 4Runner Map light. If you're going to put in the 2nd Gen maplight overhead like many seem to want to do now.... Well, then those bulbs will do you no good, lol. I'm still looking into this..... Because if I can find an ELBOWED Ba9s that comes out of the housing and then ANGLES DOWNWARD and then beams right downward toward my lap? .... I'm ON IT... This one WILL be brighter, I'm sure, when I put in foil on the reflector, etc. And honsestly, FOR ME????>> IT REALLY IS enough light to read, etc. You might not be impressed is all and might want more light... So, if you want to wait til I do more research or even try to build one... that's cool too. But, really, at 4.95$ each, it's a good value, and they use VERY lil power. 31ma's, next to the 4LED dome I'm using, which uses more than twice as much at 65ma. (which is STILL nothing compared to the stock 10W festoon incandescent bulbs, ya know?
I was thinking of using something like this, and pointing it right down from the top of the reflector, .......... http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...ed-product/13/ ......... It wouldn't be too difficult to wire up, and then I could use something like this, pointing straight down to my lap(since the lens and housing isn't really meant for any more than 90*degree beam angle)... http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...-led/958/2359/ .... It's only 30ma usage, but it will point directly down if put into one of those sockets....yet still have a 270*degree beam angle... So if I get it close to the magnified lens thingy... it should work and be brighter, for sure.

Sept. 30th DRAMA! lol......
Yesterday, I had planned to head down to Stanton/PYPart, which is an hour or so south east of me... Near Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland..... , because Grego on here had been there and stashed something for me. He tried to contact me to ask if he could get it..., but unfortunately, I didn't get to sleep until 6:30AM, due to my stepfather having pretty bad dementia and going down, slowly, to his rump or a knee... He can NOT get back up, 90% of the time... So I stayed over and crashed out a 6:30am and had to be up by 11AM.... This caused me to miss Grego's call and will probably cause me to have to head down there myself if I want to grab this top secret item, lol. (RICHARD, ...SHHHHHHHHHH! lol)....
Sooooooo, .... as I got errands done and came back to the work house to drop food, etc.,.... I went into the parents garage, where I park my truck, and the door got half way up, then POP! The gear in that particular Genie is PLASTIC! The drive gear for a 1/2 hp door, is PLASTIC???? Well, this caused me to do my research... And of course, my warranty for 'bringing back in store' was over... So I would have to ship it back to Genie.... Which, if you're getting me so far?>>> YEAH, wait for a new one in the mail.... OH, did I forget to mention? THE SAME ONE! hahaha. That model is STILL available through them, so I would have too wait........
NO THANKS... Headed down to home depot and grabbed a door opener, the best one they had by Genie that was belt driven.... Got home, opened it up, .... EVERY BAG of hardware had been opened and had dumped out all over... Someone had CLEARLY scratched it up, and when looking closer, I realized,...it wasn't even a belt drive.. It was a screw driven one! WTH? YES, it's probably stronger, but when then if I'd tried to return it, YA FEEL ME? lol... So I quickly drove back there, AGAIN, grabbed another of the RIGHT one, told them, "C'monnnn, someone OBVIOUSLY didn't check for all the parts or if they'd been opened/secured if so/ ... how do I know this? IT'S NOT EVEN THE RIGHT MODEL IN THERE!".... She agreed, ... I left with my UNOPENED PREVIOUSLY-BOX, ... and now it's 5PM.... 11:50PM, while still having to do dinner at work... Feed my parents, ...... I FINALLY FINISHED~! My point thereafter is,...... I don't think Pick-Your-Part is open at 1AM, right? DANGIT! lol.
Today, I would like to go.... BUT again, I'm having trouble getting out of here.

I appreciate it, man.... It's not any real work or anything, but I REALLY DID do LOTS of research on that, because, well, I want to do it once for a long time, ya know?
Lighting up the back is next... I might do other things first, but at least for now I have the much brighter deck lamp. I want to at least hot wire my rear window to a switch, hidden in the back for easy camping escape to the restroom! hahahaa. Thing is, when I wire in the 'constant hot' light switch in the back, I want to do all the wiring for the dome light, etc., right then and there, ya know? Yeah, the rear window wasn't a problem really, ...but I'm pretty sure you meant "Rear Gate Latch Cable" stuff I did.... YEP, it's fixed! I shut it very kindly though..... I think people slam them too much. So I want to avoid that, big time!

Hahahaah.... NO WAY, ..... maybe I came off wrong there. I wasn't being a smartypants,
..... I just wanted to be sure I can't maybe explain it more clearly? KWIMean? Honestly, if you ever see something that would make more sense, worded differently.. or parts I could just cut out, PLEASE, feel free to tell me. Even if I don't change it,...I'd GLADLY explain it in a different way, hahaa.. I tell ya, Dragon... some of this stuff, especially when you don't know the 'actual word', thereof.... it ends up sounding like 'Cotton Candy' in stead of 'Latch Bracket!' hahaha.

Hey Mark... looks like you're finding a lot of parts in the yard these days... lucky stiff... lol
To answer your ? (on pg 194) re: moving the socket changing the polarity. from what I can see of the light in the picture IDT you'd need to move it off that plate just to the edge of it. I think I have a 1gen map light in my parts bin. If I do I'll take a look at it and get back to you. though I think you may have already done something about it based on one of your above posts.

"PICK-YOUR-PART" Part...... 49?............`
Hey guys......... As I mentioned, ..... PICK-YOUR-PART IS LIKE CRACK! hahaha... BUT, I've learned to focus ONLY on things that I can use or sell. I'm doing ok........... I will start a Classifieds page on some things, like a pristine L-Trim Pair that I got not long ago, couple 3.0, different years, "Ignitor/Coil packs", Inclinometer w/mounting plate, etc,. etc., etc......... Probably gonna sell the Scion Seats as well... Even though I REALLY want to use them once I lose around 40#! hahaha.
As I ALSO mentioned, this morning, ........'yesterday, Grego stashed something for me, ........... but I missed his call and then got hung up,
', was the long and short of it, haha.............. I made it out there, today, in Stanton, CA, as I had business in Hunington Beach, CA. Not super close, but figured this would be gone pretty quick if someone found it and realized what it was..........
Upon arriving at Pick-Your-Part/Stanton, CA... I walked up to the entry dude... Told him my situation, that "I have 2 pairs of headrests, 2 dome lights, 2 pieces of paneling and a couple other pieces, all within warranty and such.... I'd like to exchange them for this other part here." I told him what... and he said, "OH, man... Dude, is that your truck out there? HOLY CRAP, it's nice... and you know what? I KNOW EXACTLY who you are! Your on that toyota site and I seen your truck.... I know cuz of that yotatech sticker and the other stickers.. My dad used to put Eskindarian Parts in all his hot rods... so it stuck with me that you had that in an old Toyota! hahaa.... Check it out... UNFORTUNATELY, you can only exchange for the SAME ITEMS... You can't exchange headrests for tires, etc. It says right here on the receipt
." .... He felt REALLY bad for me, cuz I was so stupid that I never knew that, after all these trips! And, cuz I'd come all that way only to realize the bad news, lol. SO, he leaned in and said, "Hey, go ask for 'Mario or Juan', ..... Tell them your situation and that you've come so far, ...heck, make it San Diego! ahhaa... Then ask him if he'll make an exception this time.".... By then, I figured, "Oh well, just my luck".. But i patiently waited 10 minutes for Mario, the General Manager, to get off the phone... Then he came out, I told him my story, and he said, "NO PROBLEM... but I RARELY ever do this... So don't plan on it again, ok?"............. YEAH, BOOOOOOOOOOEY! hahaha.
He told me to walk out when I found the stuff I need, leave it inside, THEN bring in the parts and receipt and tell them 'Mario said, 10/4 on the Exchange',... they'll know it's me, I say 10/4 too much", ....hahah.. VERY nice guy, honest. So, I headed on in, back to where Grego had told me, ... OR SO I THOUGHT! hahhaa... Opened up the back of this newer Cherokee, ....then tried to lift up the back where he had said, "It's in the tire compartment under the carpet"...... But the CARPET WOULDN'T COME UP
HAHAHAHA........... I called him, thinking, "Oh sure, he's just gonna be available cuz I need him
", lol... HOLY CRAPOLI, if he didn't answer on the first ring!
I explained where I was, and kindly, he said, "NOPE, you're WAY off!" lol... I was in a row of trucks they hadn't even put out yet, by the entrance. He directed me to that Plum Colored Cherokee, 3 rows in from the corner of the SUV's, round the middle of the columns.... VOILA, THERE IT WAS! >>>>>>>>.
82 Supra Air Flow Meter, ending in "43110" ......
(GAWD I hope that's right!
hahahaha...... ;

This thing's engine bay was COMPLETELY filled with rat droppings! WTH? lol... Either from sitting in a yard or whatever... But the interior was actually really nice, considering the year. Black leather with the "Leather" and Japanese symbol for leather on the back windows... Top of the line stereo of it's day(they were REALLY good decks, I remember my Cressida's Stereo was made by Alpine
).... Then looking in the engine bay, I saw this..........
Just as Wabbit told me..... "Supra had an engine bay light too, retractable".... VERY similar diameter lens to the one I got a while back.....Couldn't resist.... He gave me a STEAL on it! ...
I also noticed that, while I might need the air boot for the larger diameter AFM, I couldn't see them anywhere..... SOOOO, I opened the hatchback... THERE THEY WERE, lol. The air box, everything. Someone was gonna grab it on 50% off weekend this weekend.. OH WELL.... Not the piece you see in the pic I posted of the meter!
Then, I remembered Richard/Redeth saying he needed 'the air hoses going to the air box on my 3.0'... THEY'RE ALWAYS missing! Must be a common thing people get needing? The FIRST ONE I walked up to, leaving the yard? >>>>
I HOPE these are the right ones........

I had around 10 minutes I'd allowed myself, left... Figured, "Let's grab some more breather pipes off some Yota's!".... and I found that the late 80's, early 90's Corollas, Tercel's(the roundy ones), have the elbow type in the back of the engine, for space constraints.... THAT is what I'll use for my breathers... I think it would be wise to have them come out, bend to the side and then run the hose... THAT way, .... I don't bump it on anything, ya know? >>>>>>>>>>

Got some of the other kinds, too... So now I have around 10 pairs... PLENTY of the larger diameter nipple style ones, too. NO, I'm not starting a Diff Breather Biz! hahaha.... BUT, I might share
lol. I'm sure Richard and Grego would like some... They're near me. Don't think it would cost too much for shipping... OR, maybe I could set them up with hose and all, then sell breather kits for cheap so people don't have to pay 50$ for some overpriced crap from 4Wheelparts? hahaha.
**************************************************
In the end, returning a bunch of crap I couldn't use... Getting a break from the Manager... I got 44$ credit.... And the WHOLE bunch of stuff there, today, cost me 18$~!!!!!!!

I've read of an 'air pipe' you can use instead of the stock one... Larger Diameter that get's oval over the radiator shroud..... But I can't find the page/link
............ Anyone? Buellerrrrrrrrr? Buellerrrrrrrr? lol... Seriously, if you have any ideas... I'm game. This also means, if this works, I will have 3, total, AFM's for sale. ALL of them work... BUT, I'm keeping one of them in case I ever want to switch back/sell it(Did I just say that? NOOOOOOOO! lol).... etc. Ya know? Maybe a spectre kit would be best?(Just the pipe).. And, I think there might be some other car/rig/with piping that would work, ya know? I just need dimensions and I could literally make something work from the yards. I DO NOT HAVE to do so... I just figure getting it to the Throttle body as freely as possible, might be helpful?

Woot! Hell yea! Right on Mark. Thanks so much. You got both of the hoses I needed. Mine are cracked to hell so bad the previous owner used that thick gray tape at an attempt to stop vacuum leakage. Although his mind was in the right place it came out pretty bad. Lol. Thank you so much man. I gotta make time to drive out there one of these days. I've been really busy with the Corolla and truck and then moving. I'm amazed you found those hoses in good condition. What did they cost you?

Sweet finds Mark... reminds me I think I need to do something about my breathers... before the winter... might try the yard myself tomorrow but they just had a "free parts day" last weekend so it will probably be picked clean...

Good going Mark, glad you got a hold of it and it all worked out with the exchange. It was a better deal getting that exchange in place and spending the gas money than paying me back and still being stuck with those items! Not being able to answer the phone that morning was a blessing in disguise.
Your kinda lucky, I just stepped back into my office and sat down from a meeting when my phone rang (I keep it in my drawer). When I saw it was you I had a hunch it had something to do with the AFM, so I figured I better answer it!
Just remember....keep you're eye out for a fuel level sending unit from any Toyota vehicle with a digital gauge! I think I can make it work for my camry, and definitely a 87-88 camry! (plug and play). I'm gonna grab that supra one I stashed on Friday, but have no idea if that beat up thing still works.

Hahaaha... You guys, ... I swear, it's like a lil family, really is! lol.
Hey, ......... Richard, MY PLEASURE! And, I think they charged me 2.99$ each. I'll look on the receipt. And thanks on the props on the Videos. I figured... rather than FINALLY learn how to 'trim' them, ...I'll just leave my 'oops' and throw in some humble captions! hahaha.
Paul, .......... FREE PARTS DAY? WTH????????? I would have taken a 1UZ or 7MGE in a HEARTBEAT! Hmmmmmmm, ........ The money I'd save on a thing like that, I could afford a drive up there! hahaha.... Well, MAYBE, considering the price of fuel
lol.
Grego, ... RIGHT ON, man, and THANKS, SO MUCH! You remembered, and you stashed it for me... VERY kind of ya, sir, .... HOOAHHHHHH!

PS> I FORGOT to post a pic of something else I grabbed... INCLUDED in that price(he charged me 4 FREAKY-DEAKY DOLLARS FOR BOTH OF THESE! >>>>
* Supra Dizzy Cover and Coil Cover....... (The coil cover should fit for sure... And even though the Supra Cover is from a 5MGE 6cyl... I have the Mangecore 8.5mm wires... And they DO NOT fit, not even close, under the stock rubber 22RE dizzy boot... So maybe this would work? Worth a try for 2$~!!!!!!! lol. If not, I'M SURE someone can use it, right?
Now, I've cleaned them and the AFM up, already... And INSIDE the AFM? >>> HOLY ALUMINUM SPLINTERS, BATMAN! Guys.... I seriously got nailed today by aluminum and fiberglass shavings... Not sure where they came from....but they were ALL OVER that Supra Engine... Maybe the big corregated wall that was right there? I HAVE NO clue, but I was picking them out for half an hour while in the yard... Then, I was reaching in the AFM and cleaning it out... And DAYUMMMMMMMMM, got like 4 in the end of two fingers! OUCH!!!!!
Anyway.......... here's the Supra AFM, Dizzy Cover and Coil Cover, all cleaned up
>>>

Lil b4 and after on the AFM;

>>>

Lil b4 and after on the AFM;

Holy cow. What a drastic change. Dude that thing looks sweet! So this AFM will let in more air right? Do you know if that connection will fit with both the 22re and the 3vze? awesome job with the cleaning. Seeing that makes me feel like removing parts and cleaning everything up to look nice and clean under my hood lol

Nice job cleaning it up! My #1 rule is that ANYTHING that comes off my truck goes back on cleaner!... Easy way of cleaning the entire truck without thinking too much about it/taking too much time!

hahhaaha. Well, not sad that it might not help much..... MORE SO, sad that I didn't do more RESEARCH, like he did. He seems to have lots of stats that I can't ever seem to find..... Like he's "Toyota-Black ops" or something, hahaha. I guess it can't hurt, right?
Grego, I believe, asked me, one day, "Hey, curious why you've not done the Supra AFM upgrade"...... And I BELIEVE he has one.. I'll wait for him to respond if either instance I've referred to what him or not
hehehehehe. Here's the thread MudHippy commented on(one of many)... Look for his posts on the Supra and other AFM swaps ..... https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116.../#post51626750
