The 3vze decrapping. (Cleaning) one is actually the one. I've been using! I haven't attempted the hardline delete tho yet that's the next job on the list! I'll upload some of my pictures and show you what I've done and see if you can spot some problem areas. I'm pretty confident its something dumb I'm just looking over.

Looks good, but i'd be scared to flex that thing at all.
Can you even make full lock on a level surface? That lower valance especially looks like its just asking to rub. Of course i'm not seeing it at the greatest angle.
But yes it looks good, just keep at it.

Ya its close but it doesn't rub at full lock on a level surface. I might take it out back and flex it to see where it rubs. This weekend when I'm hopefully doing my bed bob I might just trim the fenders as well. I might trim the front valance or remove it all together. Decisions decisions

Sounds good. I say trim the valance, exposed frame doesn't look that great.
Can't wait to see the bed bob.

I was thinking of trimming it over removing the valance. I'm kinda excited about the bob as well. More for the rust removal than the off road benefits. It needs to happen soon before the whole bed is affected. I plan having a bunch of guys from my local Yota group over. I will cook hamburgers and have a bonfire at the end to chill out. Im calling it bonfires, burgers and a bed bob. Lol

The new rims and tires look slick! I'm beginning to like black rims more and more. Do you remember what the dimensions of those rims are and the backspacing?

x2! I've never liked the look of the removed valance, at least on 3rd gen pickups. Check out highonpottery's truck. He trimmed his valance in a very tasteful manner, IMO.

Rims are 15 x 7. I'm not quite sure of the backspace on them. I'm not much of a bling bling kinda guy, so the old chrome rims bugged me. I need my truck to work and play not for show. I was actually thinking of painting all of the trim black. Set the truck apart from the crowd. I did that on my 87 and liked the way it looked and the ease of maintenance.

I will check out highonpottery's thread to see how he did his bumper. Thanks for the compliments

I think the rims look good and different because I left a chrome ring on them.

Thanks! I discovered a rust hole behind the fender trim last night. Ugg its big enough to stick my fat finger thru it. Well it gives me a reason to trim the fenders. More room for flex right?

Do it. I wish my rust was so easily got rid of. I have been finding little spots like that in the back bottom corners of the cab. Just where i can't really get at it without taking the bed off.

Ya I plan on it. If I don't get ahead of the rust monster I will lose the whole truck. And since I plan on keeping the truck for a long time, break out the sawzall and cutting wheels!

Yeah. Do you have any rust in the bed wheel wells, i'm trying to figure out how to deal with it, or where to find another bed.

I have a large hole over top of the filler neck and another small hole in the driver side. I plan on using the section from the bed bob as a replacement panel. Going to be a lot of work. But worth it.

Thats a good idea. Should work great in your case. I'm not yet to the point where i want to bob my bed. It has to earn its keep yet.
