Were u talkin' about me here? Yea I really like the way it looks. Definitely gonna get those LEDs soon.
BTW how many of each size total did you buy for the dash board. I haven't counted how many of each they take. I dont have an inclinometer so would that be only the 3 for the dash board right?. But yea if u can get back to me with that info that'd be great.

re reading my quote... yes 3 for my speedo/tach gauge cluster... I'm not sure what years/models that applies to.. but my dash is out of a turbo model. probably '87

PS> Do you have a Dome LED FLAT bar thing? I'm really confused about a couple things. I don't really want em in the dash, only cuz I like how the stock looks and how it's not too bright when I'm driving... But;
1. Can you dim those LED dash lights?
2. Someone we know, Maltese, put in a whole new dome carcass from www.superbrightleds.com .... Instead of just putting in the panel(cuz his lever broke, like mine).. I could either do his 20$ mod and have from what he says is REALLY nice and bright interior, with only 9 powerful LED's in that dome apparatus he bought. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...pecs%2Frdl.htm ........or just get the panel with festoon insert........ with 30LED's on it......... http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...base_specs.htm
^^^^ Maltese said he didn't find the Festoon LED version to be NEARLY as bright as the one he has now... But I figured I could JB Kwik weld the lever back on and slap one of those panels in there and it would be just as bright or brighter, right?
I know you've messed with this... sorry for repeating this question... just too tired to search back! hahaha.. Whenever you have time, obviously, Blake
PS> I am NOT opposed to doing the LED Dash lights... Sometimes I wish it were a LIL brighter and I don't have that option... But FIRST, I'd have to replace my dimmer switch... it's toast... ONLY can see the lights when on high.
haha. Shouldn't be too hard to find at Pick-your-part, right? Wonder if multiple years/toyota's dimmers will work.
Did you do your brake and running and all those lights in LED too?

ok so i got interupted with an 11 minute phone call... but the whole ordeal should take 30-45 minutes.. I got held up with so accesory switches... but stockers should do it in no time.
my speedo cluster intself took 3 bulbs. all down the middle in a line. i used old white LEDs for my left, right blinker lights and bright. 2 for my clino. and 2 for my pods.

Ahhhhh, so you ARE happy with the www.superbrightleds.com product? You've confusededed me, mister! hahaha. JK, but seriously.. I've held off on the Dome Panel and a couple things cuz I just wanted to get the honest opinion of someone rocking their stuff, ya know? That last post in response to me sounded almost, well, disappointed in the quality? Are they flickering out?
Other question was, "you can't dim the dash lights, right?" Cuz I read there is a dimmer feature you can add with certain bulbs... but I've not found the page again
hahaha. So back to factory green dash color, eh? I LOVE IT! I think Toyota really thought that out. Mine are bright enough I guess,...and they've not burnt out in 25 years, so I think I'm good on the dash light sitch. Just need a dimmer switch to replace my broken one(Or maybe dig in there and see if it's a wiring issue, like I'VE ALSO read on some sites/threads here.
PICS IN 2 HOURS WHEN DARK! WOOT! hehe. Thanks for posting info and sharing, Blake,.... appreciate it, man!

I'm happy with most of there stuff... I understand quality control might not be the best so ill give them the benefit of the doubt. Even so i love the difference enough to where a little dash manuevering is no big deal. These do not dim, but I have ordered dimables for my moms dome light.. on accident. Lol.
On to the pics.
Obviously my cellphone doesn't do it justice. The pods aren't way brighter than the cluster. Very pleased with the results. Maybe the climate control needs to be green too? Not sure what I want.. lol

My eyes are pretty sensitive to light and honestly the green feels a bit more soothing. Probably plecebo but it feels like a more natural transition lookin from green to the road than bright white.
#534
Oh that makes sense when you put it that way. Damn were those white lights really that bright to bug your eyes. Kinda making me reconsider now. I want it white but I don't want mine ridiculously bright either.
#536
Wow, that is WAY more .............. Safe? hahaha... Not sure what word I'm looking for... I think 'Soothing' was one and that's pretty fitting for what I meant, lol. The lil one in the climate control looks SO MUCH MORE BRIGHT! Dang! Are the green ones a lower lumen? I LIKE!

We've got transmission noises!
My truck found out I was trying to save up for some SAS goodness and decided to throw
a wrench in my plans :/ Sounds like a countershaft bearing issue to me.
In 1-3 and 5th (everything but 4th) I hear a constant whine type noise. It reminds me of what straight cut gears/a super charger would sound like if the volume was set to 1 :p This whine is only audible
while the vehicle is "under load" clutch pressed in, giving any percentage of throttle. No noise with my foot off the gas. I imagine a bearing is going out? just based on everything other than my direct drive causing noise. counter shaft bearing?
both fluid levels of the transmission/transfer case are fine,
and I perform changes at the FSM suggested intervals.

well it was rebuilt and stamped by marlin crawler at some point before I bought it, so i contacted them with the whole background story.. see what they suggest. I know I can rebuild it, and have access to all the Toyota pullers... It's just a matter of how long i can go like this, how long my truck will be down, most cost effective action. This thing drives me 50 miles a day 5days a week so I need it back in action. for now im going to keep using it, if its the bearing, I imagine all it will do is get noiser... not much else can get damaged... I hope.
