Yea I thought about that. But to counter that argument... It's factory off a jeep JK. And all the spots i go wheeling, I've never seen my friends jk blow a bead.. and.. one only found time to go offroading twice. So I can either buy these mud terrain km's for 300 bucks.. or drive on bald all terrains

32's, eh? Enjoy man... sounds like a great deal! I was so grateful to get my spare set of MT's for so cheap... WEAR EM OUT, HOMIE! lol. 17's, ... I have to say I agree for the most part with Toyo... Mainly because I noticed a 'comfort of ride' difference on my 86 with those, compared to 15's... same size tire. BUT, a deals a deals a deal... and your darn right, 1000 bucks is being conservative in your estimate! I would hunt CL for the rims, man... go aluminum, Blake... the weight on 17x8's on steel WILL be noticed.. NOT LOTS, but with our lil 22re's... it's noticed.

PICS, ASAP! lol.

i wasnt worry about blowing a bead with 17inch rims. i would think more rubber means the rubber would get wider when air down. helpful when trying to float over the snow. when the time comes to replace the rubbers on 17 inch rims iirc would cost more than if it was a 15inch rim. but than again i see alot of jeep owners selling almost new rubbers in 16 and 17inch so i guess you can always snag up another deal when the time comes lol.

Hey dude,
First Of all you have an awesome 4Runner can't wait for mine to look as clean as yours. I just read through your whole thread and i gotta say i enjoyed the whole thing Great looking 4Runner and kick ass job youve done on all the mods and upgrades. im lovin' it.

And secondly, do you by any chance know what rear bumper your friend from work has?
I've been looking like crazy for a rear bumper/tire holder like this. I'd build one myself but considering the fact that I can't weld i gotta buy one pre-made. I'm trying to fit a 33/12.5/r15 wheel and rim on the back.
If you can find out for me I'd really appriciate it.

Damn bro, this is one of the sexiest Mods I've seen as far as a simple change goes. This is Something I definitely wanted to have done on my truck. But i have to replace the face for the AC and heater. The last owner broke it so I have to find one in a junk yard and then buy my bulbs

And Also i noticed you didnt have the Inclinometer thing in the middle of the dash. I want to snatch one off a junk yard one of these days, but i honestly dont know what i would have to do to wire it and attach it to my 4runner. Any tips? BTW mine is a 1989 3.0 v6 SR5 4Runner(soon to be SAS'd) Any help would help me out.

Well, my dash had two little marks where the screws of the gauge mounted, and a plug sitting under the dash waiting for me. So all the work went into removing the dash. Check the fitment of the cluster if you find one.. there at least two different shapes depending on the year.

Copy and pasting, ... might make a difference on stuff that you do;

The general formula formula for tire diameter given the www/hhRrr info is:

((2 x www x .hh) / 25.4) + rr

Where www is the tread width, hh is the height%, rr is the rim diameter, and 25.4 does the mm to inches conversion.

So 275/70R18 would work out to:

((2 x 275 x .70) / 25.4) + 18 = 33.16 inches.

This is the typical height as measured on the appropriate rim. For example most tire mfrs quote the diameter of the 265/75/R16 tire using a 7.5" rim and many users are putting the tire on 7" rims. This causes the tire to crown a bit and increases the tire diameter a bit.

Finally, the effective diameter of the tire rolling down the road is somewhat less than the value given above because the tire won't be perfectly round with a load on it.

The spec sheet from the mfr usually lists the turns per mile as well as the tire diameter. The turns per mile will give you the circumference to use in gearing and mileage calculations and you can get the effective rolling diameter from that.

Also, I believe the rims can 'rub' on linkage and such with certain sizes/offsets.... have NO idea in this case, just throwing it out there so you're sure on stuff, ya know? My friend ran 16.5's on his 85 EFI 4x4 long bed... so I'd bet you'll be fine

And in your case, .... 2x275x0.70/2.54+17= 32.15748 ..... My pleasure! lol.

You know what, where I found my 32's to rub(with 3.85" offset outlaw 2's) was ONLY on the Mudflap. HOWEVER, .... I've not 'pushed it' in the 'flex/stuff' dept... so I can't be sure. Next time you're out there, grease that nub-end that causes the 'POP' at full turn.... it'll distract and mislead you, otherwise, and since you wheel a bit, that eats up the grease on there, QUICK like! lol
