i have a haynes manual, its only good for ripping pages out and starting a fire to keep you warm when your toyota is broke down.

no seriously it was a waste of 20$

good tools? you mean a 12mm socket lol, rebuild the whole truck with that thing.

any brand rebuild kits to stay away from?

Honestly, i think it cleared up a lot for me and my truck and stuff of the such, i hate the vagueness but its helped me a lot. And yeah you're gonna need a good 12mm socket. Hahaha

vagueness? you mean...

Chapter 74:

Removing your pistons.

Part 1. Its in the engine.

Installation is reverse of removal.

lol vague it is. im trying to source another motor atm. after my leg gets done kicking myself for running it low on oil, ill use the other one to kick myself fr passing up a brand new rebuilt 22-re under 5k miles and the entire truck with a starter issue for 300$.

Hey man, dont be so down. Everyone makes mistakes, we probably made the identical

mistake! I knew my oil pump was going bad, but I didnt really bother with it in my old

threw a rod shortly after.

Is your engine still running? Is it just a rod knock? If so you can just replace the rod in

the cylinder and hopefully that will solve the problem. I had a rodnock in the 2nd cylinder

I took off the oil pan, and took out the rod, and had it replaced along with new oil pump.

I would say see how bad the rod knock is first, and go from there. And dont worry if

youre not devising a rebuild plan yet, i waited 3 months just to do my rod. I had no

motivation to do it, but in the end, you gotta do what ya gotta do.

Engine builder.com is an awesome site for 22RE parts.

im still debating. biggest thing is i dont want to put a new wimpy 22re back in there. but i cant afford much else,, unless i sell my ski, and i love my ski.

if i do sell the ski, i could do everything i want to the truck and not worry about it.

so here i am, ramming my head into the wall.

lol this was my DD so i really f'd myself for being a moron.

a 1uz would be nice, but wouldn't it be much easier to just get a 5vz (3.4L)?

It would but I miss having v8 power. And plus if I'm going through all this why not?

The 1uz will cost around the same and be 10x better

I'd like to eventually like to do a 1uz swap. I ALMOST had my hands on a 94' SC400 4.0 V8 but then the guy just stopped answering my calls I think when i swap i'm going to do a 2JZ that's another option for you, i know you said you wanted a V8 but the 2JZ (straight 6) is one of the best engines by Toyota IMO.

I'd say SAS it, and go back with the 22r and the correct gears for the tire size.
