Thanks fellas.
Nate, go nuts man. I'm not finished wheeling it as IFS yet. It will take time to gather parts and any tech info is awesome. This is sort of like a blog and everyone is welcome to throw in opinions and ideas. Especially the guy who makes part of my suspension. I hope you don't think I'm just bagging on your kit. I'm very happy with it off road. It's awesome.
I didn't plan on doing the wheeling I've been getting into. It just sorta happened.
Oh and the reason I want to use the FJ62 axle is that I have one. It's complete and just needs tearing down and cleaning up. Plus with all the common parts with the mini axle there is a ton of support.
It's IFS width already and I believe I can widen it with my IFS hubs a few inches helping clear 35's or 37's.
The rear might have to be custom perhaps with an FZJ80 high pinion diff?
One step at a time. First I need money so I better start saving.

Awesome wheelin pics, looks like some fun trails! Your runner is very impressive, I agree with the guys about renaming your build thread, it's definitely not a "rookie restore" project anymore!

Dude where you went wheeling looks like really beautiful places. Wish down here in Louisiana we had places to go wheeling like that. Also it's optional to take hunter safety which teaches you gun safety. But there are a lot of retards that do own guns and shouldn't. A lot of ppl carry guns in there vehicles 24/7 down here.

I'm not terribly critical of the US. I think it's a great place and agree with many policies you guys trend towards incl foreign policy and gun ownership. What I don't get is why people would dislike expecting people to take courses for a gun license. Everyone has the right to drive a car or big rig if they choose but we all expect each person to carry proof of some sort of test and training. Exercise the right to bear arms but at least put some effort in first. It is a firearm after all and you could put someones eye out.
I'm not allowed to keep a pistol in my truck. I probably would if I could to be honest. In remote areas especially. I've been to places you could lose a vehicle and a couple of bodies pretty well. Being the paranoid person I am I like having insurance against it being me; not without a fight. I like that American law understands the right to defend yourself.
The biggest thing I learnt traveling America is that it's a land of wonderful paradox.
It's also a good place to get drunk.

Well we do have conceal carry permits that you have to take a course to get.
I can't carry a pistol with me either cause I work for a plant and can't bring it in with me. But I would live to carry one with me cause it's a bad area the plant is near that I have to drive through.
You need to come visit Louisiana. Everyone I've met that's from out of state says it's different than any where's else.

Both of us very badly want to head out your way. We where going to try but America is big and you can't see it all in one go. The next one we will be heading South. We like spicy food a lot. I've also seen some beautiful pictures of that part of America.
My in-laws down in Australia don't agree with my views on guns. Even though they have violent home invasions down there they would rather just hope it doesn't happen to them.
My shotgun is very close to my bed. Unless these are break in ninjas with ladders home invaders hope they don't find my house. There was a case in Australia where the police had charges on an old man who killed a home invader at his bedroom door. He had his wife with him and warned the criminal that he was armed and not to enter the bedroom. He kicked open the door and died.
Public backlash had the charges dropped but it shouldn't have even gone far enough for charges. My brother in-law asked if I could shoot someone in my house. Honestly I was surprised he asked me that. He has a little girl himself and I'm about to marry his sister. I would think he would hope I could shoot someone violent in my house considering his sister would be home too.

Wow. Now I know some where not to go. Down here if you break into someone's house be prepared to meet the end of a barrel and have some lead flying at you. I have my shot gun and buck shot sitting right next to each other so if I hear someone break in I can load it in a rush and blow a soft ball size hole in them. But I also live in the middle of the country so I do t have to worry about breakins really.
We definitely have spicy food down here. Great culture. You'll definitely enjoy yourself down here. Ppl definitely know how to have a good time. Also known for our seafood especially.

What were the 4 guys doing there waiting? Sounds like more than robbery. When you hear stories like that, where the people that are doing the right thing yet facing trouble because of it, makes me sad. Sucks to think you can defend yourself and get in trouble for it.

The 4 guys where meth heads looks like. Why they do anything no one really knows.
Louisiana is top of the list on places we want to go. We want to eat a bunch of crawfish and have a good time.
America is so big there are just too many good places to see.
