No I didn't - there really isn't much clearance around them - its a pretty tight fit inside the door. Naw, what I need is an amp to help them pump out sound properly haha!
Actually I think it will help when I get my door panels back on - from my understanding the idea with the boxes is to separate the area acoustically in front of the speaker from the area behind it so that the sound waves don't interfere with each other - is that right? ...If its more for creating a sort of resonating chamber like a guitar, then I guess in that case I'm screwed... haha!

I have to say they sound pretty good though even without the door panels - MUCH better than the little 4in speakers that were in the dash lol

Great news on the bumper, I'm really looking forward to seeing it installed!

Something like this would be good. I think some guys have made them out of fibreglass themselves.

I put a $951 bid on one of these at gcsurplus.ca but didn't win it.

I'm on a mission now and want one of these bad boys.

Anyone have one or know where to buy them? Off road trailers are retarded expensive but if I can find one of these I have a rad base to build my own.

Post some links if you know anything about these things.

I think there are dealers in the US for these things?

I might be able to pick one up on my trip if anyone has any info.

No having a lot of luck on google. Old adds or currently out of stock finds.

I'm looking for someone who actively sells things like this. I think it might be a good idea for me to put an add in craigslist that I am looking for one.

Someone on the West Coast somewhere has to have one of these as a never got around to it project and could use some cash. If anyone sees this feel free to give me a PM.

I can get it moved to a storage unit until I can come get it. Road trip soon, wouldn't mind coming back with one of these trailers.

Check out expeditionportal.com. At the least they have lots of info about outfitting them, and maybe some for sale. They'll know exactly what it's worth, though, so you probably won't get a smoking deal on it from there.

After looking these trailers up I don't expect to find a smoking deal. Even at a retail cost of 2k it's a long way short of the 6 to 8k people want for a camping trailer.

The M101 CDN will be a great base to build a very robust camping trailer.

I wonder if it would be possible to mod it to have a tailgate and still be water tight for floatation?

I'll be on the lookout for sure now.

I bid a solid $951 but it went for $1250. Stupid blind bidding.

Someone got a deal.

Hey man, I gotta say I'm pretty torn on that one... There's a guy on here, & I'm sure you've read his trailer build, & I believe he has a 99 4 runner... What the heck is his name? Anyway, Johnny knows who I'm talking about I believe, and a lot of people who read your thread will probably chime in with his ID name....

Anyway, it is possibly one of the sickest trailer I've ever seen... It's a very compact unit what crazy suspension and all types of killer electrical stuff and charging station and compressor and everything... Its really sick! Aluminum on the outside, guys?... Damn what is his name? Lol... Too many projects and old man disease getting at me... It will come to me in the day and I'll post it up.

Whatever, I also wanted to mention another cool dude on here, Anthony1, who has a really cool I believe 83 Toyota bed trailer with the shell and everything... I think if I did have a trailer I would definitely want something I could cover for the winner. Not just a tarp, but something I think I could seal pretty well the shell and some insulation... I like it because it matches pretty well, having the same brand trailer bed as his truck, which is a pretty sick 2nd Gen 4runner SAS

I agree, I want it sealed up as well.

It's just really annoying having to pack up a roof top tent if you want to do some exploring. I'd like to create a base camp trailer that is tough as nails.

An aluminum body would be cool. The M101 dry weighs in at 750lbs.

Not light at all.

It may take me a long while to find one. Who knows I may develop some fab skills before I do. I hope to anyway.

I've had that welder a year now and have not set it up yet. My next garage is mine only, no sharing so I expect to be able to do projects without fear of someone messing with my tools etc.

You can buy a fibreglass lid with gas shocks for the M101. They run $1500 or so that I have seen so far.

No I would not be in a hurry. It would be a really interesting project to gain fabrication skills.

I'll look into that. I bet there are some pretty cool plans out there on the interwebs.

Bumper is in Canada now!

It's late but considering the super short notice not bad.

I don't think the reputation TAG has gotten on some forum threads is fully deserved.

Perhaps teething problems when new? Maybe it grew much faster than anticipated?

All I know for sure is that they cranked it out fast. With luck the bumper will be as good as the customer service I've gotten so far which has been positive.

I've got the TAG bumper with tire swing out on the way.

I can't move a spare 35" tire around the cargo area for this years road trip. The missus said we need it on the outside so with her green light I ordered one up.

Photo below of what it should look like.

I've also ordered new front seats and have paid for the Blazeland kit.

It's going to be a rad trip.

Warning to everyone who reads this. Do not buy anything from TAG.

My bumper is functional only because I took it to a proper welder/fabricator.

There is a crack where the weld did not properly penetrate and when they ground the outside to make it look pretty it cracked a bit.

They forgot to send the brackets forcing us to butcher my old bumper to fab mounting brackets.

It was built too narrow for the tailgate. It had to be cut up and rewelded.

I strongly suspect that with less than a month of practice my welds would be better than the beads this amatuer laid down. My guy did nicer welds with a stick.......

They siliconed the ˟˟˟˟ out of it too. It like like they just slopped it all over the inner seam.....

Piss poor quality of work. I could have had a better fully custom job done for less than what I paid with shipping.

I like it now and it works only due to finding a good dude to instal it.

I am so annoyed I've not even bothered to call them to express how I feel about it.

It does look cool though. Im at the start of my trip and will head to America next week with a stop at Wild West Offroad to get my Blazeland LT installed.

Ill be on the hunt for a new to me 2nd Gen 4Runner in the dry states. I plan on starting over from scratch having learnt so much with this one.

I want a nice platform to hang those FJ62 axles.

In the meantime, that blazeland kit will help me wheel the piss out of this one.

I bought a digital SLR camera for this trip so I should have some good pictures going up soon.

Ill post up as I pass through areas so if anyone is up for some wheeling let me know.

Chef and Red, hope to join in on a run if you are not too busy.
