I'm on leafs all around and shes got some roll but it a 4x4 so I expect her to be a little bit on the loose side.

Have you put some thought into sway bars?

As for the chop I don't know if you saw the thread on pirate with this beast in it but

I think I'm in love minus the paint job and the body kit that is one sexxy chopped patty wagon!!

Yea ive seen that one and i like it, but if i were to chop mine i want to do it to make it look different, just bobing it doesn't really fancy me.

BTW I AM RUNNING a rear sway bar. it just doesn't help enough.

Yeah I like the stock look but I to have thought about doing the back half chop and if I did I was going to use a 3rd gen bed and bob it and try to bring it all together and still make the rear hatch window work. That would be the only way I would want to do it to try and give it that foreign 4dr 3rd gen truck look with a roll down back window.

Your rig has come a long way sorry to see the flop but its good to hear that no one was injured. It kills me when I see these classics get all banged up but I guess it comes with the territory. The drivers door looks like it could be banged out, but on the bright side you have to perfect half door candidates.

Not sure how your rig handles with the LC coils since mine went from stock to leafs I really can't tell you the difference in rides.

i say do a leaf swap, try to lower the truck a bit, and maybe look for some 2" BS wheels. my truck has a little body roll, yeah, but for a rock crawler i feel it handles pretty well. spring rate will help a ton, as the coils are just too soft IMO. what's your frame height on that thing anyway?

just so you know, putting an exo on that pig is going to only make you that much heavier... and all up top. sure an internal cage is weight up top too, but it's easily less tube (unless you go legit go-fast, prerunner design) and can be made stronger easier. i'm pretty happy with my 4xInnovations cage, and i would definitely recommend it if you go interior...

it's really up to you man. if you want to start cutting and lose your dry cargo space, go for it. they do look cool... and you lose a little weight. you could always try a canvas type top, similar to a can-back, which i tihnk would be tits. it all depends on the execution really. i've seen some hacked jobs and some nice ones.

whatever you end up doing, i'll be watching. good luck Mike, and let me know if you have any questions about anything...

Okay from the bottom of the TG front spring hangar is 27.5" and to the bottom of the frame underneath the driver door is roughly 25.5"

EDIT: Today i poped out some more of the dents so the front fender actually lines up with the door again.

Yea see its not very tall.

Now when i am driving on road if i have even a small amoung of weight in the back if i make turns sometimes the back wheels will rub on the fenders, i can also see the rear tires start to tuck up underneath the fenders. This makes me believe its all the rear suspension..

I'm at 26" center frame in between the doors and my runner sits about even.

Even with the kids in the back seat and momma up front I'm not even close to tucking the tire in the fender.

It sounds like leafs are in your future.

By the way you describe it sure dosen't sound anything like my runner, I feel the body roll but like I said nothing drastic like tire in the fender wells type of roll.

If only you lived closer.

Have you considered trying a heavier duty rear sway bar? Would one out of an LC work? I would imagine they would be heavier? Have you considered the inflatable "helper" bags that go within the rear coils? They would stiffen it up. Maybe get one of those baby basket balls (like 6" diameter, or whatever would fit in your coils) If you deflated it, slipped it in, then reinflated it, you could sorta of create a cheap cheater as an experiment to see if it would make any difference. It might take 2 per coil? Just a thought as an experiment before you go to leaves.

Yes the tire actually tucks into the rear fenders. If i have maybe 100+ pounds in the back it will rub on the fender wells.

Yea that might be worth a shot, but im honestly sick of the stock coils. I believe with the lift springs they are maxed out. My truck sags to the passenger rear. And its just too soft.

I got leafs waiting to go in. I can get my hands on a stock ifs rear pickup housing so i don't have to spend a ton of time cutting off the brackets off my axle. I have a buddy who has brand new bilsteins that i can get when ever i get the cash. ANd i have the chevy springs waiting in the garage.

I have read your posts about the rear tucking when turning? I would bet that once you fix your rear springs the body roll will decrease. I would get some stiff leafs in the rear. Just my 2 cents...

Oh this weekends high lakes is off, but next weekend we will be able to make it. One of my buddies wife is in town (military married to military, she is stationed in Vegas). It also gives me a little time to fix the little things... I will still be doing some wheelin this weekend but just close to home... I will get some pics.. because I know, with no pictures it didn't happen..lol

The Air Force will do their best to station a couple at the same base. The Air Force needs always come first. 99.5% of the time they are stationed together. I hope that answers your question..
