so one of those nagging, not-so-fun, PITA projects was Joe's hood. whatever paint was used on the inside of it was crap and peeling and some attention was going to be needed before it went back on.

sooooo....commence with the wire wheel and vacuum and compreesed air sprayer , repeat, repeat, repeat..

and you get this

add in some Joe and some Bar-B-Q grill paint.......

and you get this

and leads to a nice simple happy moment of being able to close the hood

Dear BBP's Wife,

Please come home soon.

Your husband is getting stranger by the minute.

Hope your boat doesn't get a flat tire.

Thanks,

soooooo.....some pics.

not so sure what I am accomplishing, if anything, spraying that stuff in there.....seems like I'm just gonna be moving crud around and it's going to accumulate somewhere else.

but anyhoo...

here is the stud that I think may be some, if not ALL of the problem. the nut that holds the wire on is damaged......my assumption is that something bad happened once causing an arc.

probably not the best pic.....but.....I'm going to work on these threads a bit more.....???sandpaper???....what else??

and .....ummm....it does this to the driveway

here's the nut...does not look good. mid you, this is the way it was when I was putting it back on.
