IDK about that but i use it all the time at work and on all my engines that had oil leaks. WORKS so good. you should have used some on the oily block. it would have came out super dry once rinsed off. my block use to be like that and i was able to clean it all up while it was still in the runner. sprayed purple power on oil area and pressured washed it off.

in that case, definitely will use it. like I said, the camera makes things look worse than they are. block is very clean already, just some stuff here and there. but...for the heads and the engine compartment, I will use that stuff.

Ok....basically just mounted this up temporarily so I could get started on the other one so I don't get them mixed up.
this red paint covers terribly.
currently changing the color of the "stiffeners"????? that brace the transmission to the motor from green to red.

Its one step closer. Look at each step as an accomplishment. Glad to see you 2 are back on it again. (There is 2, right???) just kidding you.
Yess.. air tools are nice, someday I might get to find out. Looking forward to more of your build.

hey..play nice.
I asked him if I could do that 1st.
yep....me and Joe primarily. My other guy Jeff is 9.....and although he can and does help a little, he doesn't have the patience for it......(not fast paced as he likes).
the air tools thing is quite new...scored a NEW (never used in a garage, only was used for running dental school stuff for a student dentist)....the rest of the stuff I bought new.
thanks Mark.....everything we do, is one more thing we never have to do again.....hopefully.

Yeah, you're thorough, homie... I'm betting it's gonna be good to go with a lil 'dialin in', that's all!

well...I made a big GD mess........errr I mean, cleaned the engine bay a little...or a lot.
1st of all....got the steamer going......meh....it works and works well but t cuts about a 1/8'' to 1/4'' area only and really has no ooomph to cut through heavy stuff. i used the purple power stuff and let it sit for about 20 minutes, then i scrubbed it after trying to steam it off, then i tediously worked on a little spot at a time, then i said screw it and used the pressure washer. pressure washer FTW! but huge mess FTL!
anyhoo.......got alot cleaned.....gonna let it dry ad see what needs to be done yet.....going to paint what can be painted and shine what can be shined.........on with the pics.
a concrete mixing tub to catch all my drips....yeah right! 1st of all, it had a crack in it....2nd of all, once i started pressure washing it pretty much served little purpose. oh well.....i can clean the garage after we are all done.

BEFORE,,,,caked with oil.....believe me, it's a mess....no sure the pics will do it justice

and AFTER

and a BIG MESS INDEED!

work for the next 4 days.....my schedule is different now, so we will have to sneak a few minutes here and there to get work done.

that drain has NEVER been used so it was clogged with dirt and stuff and I didn't realize it because I was paying attention to what I was doing and not watching the runoff. would have been a much smaller mess if that didn't happen.
how clean should that bell housing be? does that even matter???
the rest of it i will do again with the steamer to detail it but holy hell, that would have taken forever.

That bell housing is gonna get crapped up with stuff afterwards since it's pretty much open to elements. I didn't get mine very well either. But since yours is oil, I'd try to get it the best ya can, as oil and grease can mess up a clutch pretty good and ya don't need any of that stuff working itself loose. Mine seemed to be just mostly caked on dirt so I wasn't too worried about it.
