good thing i dig the silly look

thanks for the compliments guys. so far i love the Krawlers. they're a little louder than the MTRs, but not by much. they're pretty smooth though, and actually balanced easier than the Goodyears did. oh, forgot to mention what wheels i'm running... i ended up picking up 17x9s with 3" backspacing used off Pirate. i would have liked 17x8s, but getting them new with the custom backspacing is $$$. these were cheap, so i can live with it.

i'll report back after i get a chance to wheel on them. i'm excited to see how they hook up.

Hmmm.... Hollister sounds fun. What weekend? Maybe I can get my 5.29 elocker installed before then. I have Bandit's old 5.29 IFS diff to put in as well. I may try to get an aussie installed in it before I install it though.

Looks like I may be mobbing the van for Surf N Turf. It actually did really well out there.

Is the 4runner still your DD? How long do you think those tires will last?

we're going out there for Veteran's Day weekend, so the 7-10 i think...?

definitely get that thing locked up, you'll love it.

the van huh? ha ha, that's awesome man. i might try and go out for Surf N Turf. no reason i shouldn't since it's so close...

4Runner is still my DD, yeah. i think they'll last almost as long as an MTR or BFG would. at least i hope they do... they're not the red labels, compound should be the same or close to the BFG Mud Terrain. no idea really, hoping for the best though.

Damn!!!! That's the same weekend as Surf n Turf!

Ah!!! I thought those were red labels! I thought you were crazy running them on a DD.

Haha, the van, if it's a rockin' don't come a knockin'!

bummer Chris... well i'll keep you posted on our trips, one of these days we'll work something out.

thanks Mike, i'm glad the party wagon has been an inspiration to someone. mine will see a motor swap at some point too, but i'm leaning more toward something of the 8-cylinder flavor... i'm usually only up in Sac for the holidays, but you're more than welcome to check it out if we're ever both up in that area.

well got a chance to get some work done on the rig this weekend... did another front bumper "rebuild". ended up knocking out the factory threaded inserts on the bumper mounts and drilling everything out to accept 1/2" grade 8 hardware. bumper is solid now, which is great. also cut back the corners a bit and plated them in with some 3/16" plate. once all that was done i gave it a good coat of semi-gloss black. i was never really a fan of the Hammered black paint... it was more of a gunmetal gray than anything. i'll have to repaint the rear bumper and sliders now too.

i replaced my broken headlamp while the bumper was off, and fixed the wiring for my auxiliary lights. pulled/pried out the big dent in my driver-side quarter panel too.

overall, a good weekend. i'll get some pics posted up tomorrow for you guys.

i'm okay, just a little sore and cut up. not sure what i'm going to do with it yet... might have a line on another white one, so maybe cab swap.

it was getting a cage this winter... not soon enough apparently.

Glad you're okay.

I always wondered how that A pillar would hold up to a rollover.

Did you go over backwards or roll sideways?

Seeing how far the windshield crushed in is scary! I am very happy to hear you've walked away from that.

A guy named Richard in NC drove an early Nissan Frontier that he SAS's with CALMINI's prototype kit. To make things short, the steering worked itself loose at 65MPH on the freeway causing him to endo and roll a few times. Like you he was able to walk away.

May good luck always stay on your side!
