Well, Cleared all the plastic in the back and removed the head board in preperation for the chop. I suspect it will happen sometime this week. I will have more pictures tomorrow.

The chop is done... now to repair the damage :)

Kinda pushing forward... nobody is really responding to my posts but I'll keep posting pictures for those that are looking... Chopped the back off today still need to take a couple more inches off not satisfied with how small the bed is going to be at the moment. Going to put the old rear window back on for the rear window and that way I can retain my rear window defogger as well. I am also going to put back the spoiler to keep the back window a little cleaner on the trails. Anyways heres the pictures...

I welded in the reinforcements for the back to attach to today, planning on putting the old window back in and sealing it up and holding the bottom in with some angle iron... then using the sheet metal from the roof piece that i Removed and I am going to use that for the lower part of the window to the bed. Probably be done and ready to paint in another 2 weeks. Ill post more pictures tonight when I get home.

What did you use to remove the stripes? I'd like to get rid of what's left of mine...

They make these eraser wheels that work really well, you can get them at a local body shop, couldn't find one at an autozone or anything like that. Im sure you can find them online, hooks into a drill. You could also use a hair dryer heat them up and peel them off and then work the glue off with a very mild solution like soapy water or something like goo gone. I used laquer thinner but it does mess with the clear coat if you use to much.

Hey, not to make ya do more work, but I'm pretty sure one of your cam sprockets is on backwards, if they're still like they are in the picture. Ya should have one on so that the belt can't rub against the engine or the timing cover. The project rocks though!

I just put a small piece of metal behind the mesh and put the screw through it and the mesh and into the emblem. Holds on well but this thin mesh doesn't hold up well I am going to upgrade to the mesh you often see on the headache racks. And thankyou for that tip on the timing sprockets, I have to take apart a lot of the engine again to put my headers on whenever they get here so I will do that then, on the upside I got the back end of the roof welded on today, despite me trying to be really careful of the heat, it warped so I will have to fiberglass it and sand it smooth... Luckily it doesn't do that wierd bend thing, its just permanently bent and won't move... I will post pictures tomorrow forgot the camera at the gf's house.
