so thats the downey guy? .. i saw he also has the disc brake brackets and he mentions downey on alot of his items for sale.

im not sure if my tranny mount is good havent checked it really but the maroon 4runner has a brand new tranny mount brand new rubbers for the engine mount (same design as mine) .. and it also moves front to back quit a bit when you really get on it. or just step on the brakes and floor it .

Yes that is Jim Sickles the former owner of Downey Off Road. Yes he has alot of parts that I have ordered. He is a good guy. I bought my mega travel Ball joints and rear lift coils ect from him and have been very happy.

I just bought the 2 1/2" maganaflow cat, rear sway poly bushings, and panhard bar poly bushing and the crossmember adaptor from him.

The guy that I was going to get that t100 tranny/transfer from flaked out so I am on the hunt for another unit. If you know of any RMA could you pass them on my way.

It would be much appriciated.

So question for you guys I suck written parting stuff out and selling stuff. Do u think that 500 is to much for a 3.0 with 220k that had a valve job 100k ago. I don't really think so. I'm sure its just coz no one wants these engines as its so expensive an hard to get power out of them. I figure ill just look for one with a blown motor and swap my engine in it an sell the hole truck.

I sold my 3.0 for 250$ :S Not much but i needed space. Thats why. If you got space for it and a box of patience, you may get 400-500$ for it no problem.

Yeah I could sell it for that selling it as a core to yota jims. I'll just find another runner to swap of into. Hopefully one with gray interior so I can swap it into my runner as I don't like the peanut butter colored trim in mine

Keep up the good work. Did you end up ordering that transfer plate adaptor. I have got see some one finish this engine swap, as I popped head gaskets last night and the engine will not run.

I am not doing another rebuild. Just going to have to bite the bullet and start the upgrade now.

No I didn't get to order it the other night. I think ebay was having some problems it wouldn't let me buy it. I checked on my phone yesterday an it worked. But I was at work late last night building a new tranny mount for my hatch as the one I had in there www just a modified version on stock one and blew the mounts out and my tranny was sitting down to far so the driveshaft was bottoming out and tearing up the output shaft deal. So with that all handled its all hands on the runner now. I will be getting it tomorrow. And if I remember tonight after some head gaskets I'm doing ill order up that plate to.

That sucks man its never good when something like that happens.

ok so i got the engine and trammy out to day. got the new bellhousing bolted to the tranny. and i must say i would rather pull a 22re out any day. those 3.0 motor mounts are a chore to get to. so here is some pictures.

so here is a little video when i was pulling the tanny. found the sorce of my vebration wish i would have notecied befor i balanced the drive shaft twice then put i another one in.

and here is the flywheel and the spacer for the 1uz flex plate so show the bolt hole differance.

looks like i had a bit of a leak.

got the ecm out and the wiring stuffed through the firewall.

bummer and i jsut put that in.

here is the engine mounts i am using. the same ones that 4.0 pickup is using. and a part number if anyone wants to do the same.

So I guess this is where I get lost as to wiring everything up. You pulled the factory ECU out? You pulled the engine wiring harness out thru the fire wall but left all the other plugs just hanging where they used to plug into the ecu?

So does the 1uz engine harness get pushed thru the hole and plug into the 1uz ECU and the rest of the truck harness get spliced into the 1uz ECU? Is this the tracing of wires or do you have engine harness work as well?

I know that there are some things like oil sender that you reuse from your 3.0 so the gauge works but how is the rest of the trucks wiring work with the new ECU.

Question 2

I know you bought the bell housing from KS Racing off of Ebay. It looks like you are just reusing your old 3.0 flywheel and clutch? Other than having the machine shop elongate the holes for bolting the thing to the crank did you have to do anything else? Will the flywheel and clutch from a 3.4 fit inside the bell housing? I noticed that you can buy a flywheel from KS for an additional $170, but if the 3.0 fly will fit with just a little machining then that seems way cheaper.

for question one. all of the plugs that plug into the 3.0 ecm came out with the engine harness.and in the second picture you can see the 2 pluges that are still hooked to the body with a long white clip those are the other plugs that are on the engine harness for strff such as water temp oil pressure and so on. i should have taken a picture after i unplugged the rest. but then engine harness has 5 plugs on it, 3 to the ecm and 3 that go to the body harness. the 1uv is the same other then the 1uz has an extra plug for the tcm half of the computer. and yes the 1uz harness will come in the truck the same way.

question 2. i got my bellhousing from the ks its self. well kinda i just emailed him as there is no link on his site to order anything. but i am using the 3.0 flywheel but you can use a 3.4 flywheel it will fit but will still have to be modified. but you cant use the stock 3.0 clutch it wont hold the power. as 4.0 said marlin dose one. i also read on a site from the other side of the globe you need one that has at least 2100 pounds of clamping force. i didnt want to get the hole kit from ks as it would be around a 1000. and the bellhousing on its own was 440. i think my flywheel work wont be more then 50 as that around how much it was for the work on my sbie flywheel to put my 5speed in it to get rid of the 4speed. from marlin the clutch is 200. wich still puts me under getting the hole kit from ks. and im sure my buddy at carquest can get it cheeper. im hopeing to have the engine and tranny sitting in the runner in the next 3 to 4 weeks.
o and the center hole has to be reamed out to fit over the crank.
