Good advice from hilux. I'm always checking my mirrors while driving, as well as always monitoring the gauges. Sometimes I don't even have the radio on because I'm listening to the engine, and rest of the vehicle.

Speaking of listening, my dd that I wrecked in blew a head gasket. It is not leaking into the motor block or cylinders, I checked, it is only leaking out of the back of the gasket by the #6 cylinder. It was the cursed crossover pipe wasn't it?

I also wanted to post some pics of my progress on the front. Rust is my issue, and it's really slowing me down. This is what three hours of a BFH and three cans of pb blaster and hand tools got me.

I should know this. I grew up in and around your area. But I cannot for the life of me.

It's bloodroot! The roots ate a deep red colour. They are found near ginseng sometimes. I am not going to tell if I found some or not because ginseng goes for around 400$ a lb. bloodroot for 3 to 9$ a lb. anywho, I got a lot more done today I finished taking off the shock on the pass. side and had to brush the rust off the lower control arm. I got it down to bare metal and laid some rusty metal primer, then black paint, then undercoating to protect from further rust. I also sprayed the inside of my frame with some internal frame coating from Eastwood. Here is the parts truck I'm disassembling also.

I also got a nice set of hubs from this truck.

I finally got the tortion bars off of the 94 and I got the upper control arm off too. I cleaned it up and laid the paint n' stuff to it. Along with my gas tank, leafs, and diff.

And the finished project on the lower control arm.

Now, I need some HELP, I have a broken lower ball joint bolt, how do I remove it, or should I use my parts truck for a steering knuckle?

In the upper pics, there was a few of the same pics posted, and they weren't what I was wanting to show. The DEVCON I used for the diff. is on my frame in the pics above.

you could take the rest off and then grind that down and drill retap it but that would be my last resort try soaking that thing in pb blaster and getting the others out and the bj off so there is somethig to bite on and use vise grips and try twisting it out. or i dont know how well it would work but i know at my work we sell this kit where you drill a hole in the bolt then there is a taperd reverse screw that you twist in and once that is wedged in it could start twisting the bolt out. i work at ace and thats where i saw it. hope that can help.

I just had a chance to take a look at my truck today that has a blown head gasket. I was lucky enough to have the coolant leak out of the motor and not go into the cylinders or oil. Hope to start tearing it down tmr. Try to take pics for y'all. We have no school tomorrow, so I'll get er done as quick as I can.

My photo bucket account died, so I need to make another. I am working on putting the motor back together. I sent the heads off to get checked for warpage. I spent 300 dollars to get them checked. Not to mention the other parts I needed. Man I have to say, the carbon build up was horrible. It looked like someone took a tobacco can and dumped it into each cylinder. Plugs were junk too.

Alright, I got a new photo bucket account and transferred all of my pics over. I have the same username since it crashed and was reopened. Here is my progress since the heads were off and I have been putting it back together.

I have busted my ass for the past two days on the truck. My dad works a four on and four off schedule. Since my parents are getting a divorce I am stuck working on my ride when my mom has me. I have two more days left and lucky me stripped two bolt holes in the aluminum head. I am getting a helicoil set to fix them. It is the last two cam blots in the rear.

I also got it back in time. The distributor is what is going to be tricky. Any suggestions?

You may also be able to tell there is a copper colour on the water pump outlet from the spray on the gaskets. It helps seal any imperfections in the gasket material. It was a bitch to put back in.

I got the motor back together. It runs good except that it wants to die out after it heats up. It has a new dist., wires, and plugs. So it can't be a firing issue. Idle is 900-1000rpms and800 when hot. What else could it be? HELP!!!!!

I got to look at my truck some more, and it doesn't want to still stay running. The thing wants to slowly drop in rpms to bout around 500 to 800. It then kills out. Once it dies, it won't start if it's hot. I think I have a small vaccum leak somewhere. Or my choke is stuck. I have noticed a strong exhaust odor that smells similar to when you run a lawn tractor on choke. It has good power though. HELP PLEASE!!! ANYBODY.

Found the problem. The fuel sending unit had a small pinhole in it. The main pressure line broke with the slightest touch. Couldn't hold any fuel anymore, so I took my sending unit out of my 94 and put it in. I bent the fitting on the flex line and I need another. Getting it made tmr.
