the one 3.0 i ever messed with was with a truck i was looking at and they guy wanted me to keep it for a weekend and test drive it and see if i wanted it, took it too a mechnic, has low compression on cyl number 6, drank the gas like my 318 dodge did, and was so un powered even here in flordia i was shifting in 3rd just to get up a gentle angled hill, after a day i took it back and never looked back

runs-on-4 that's one sick truck! every mod you have done is simple (that does not mean half-assed) and very well apointed! congrats!

love the way it flexes with just 63's and stock RUF's, makes me want to do it even more, some people I think over do it with the 63" swap and RUF's. You made it look really simple.

I think you neglected the pic-uploading on the steering mods! hehe would be nice to see it even if is pretty straight forward.

I have only had one toyota, wich is what I have now but I love my 3.0, it takes a very steep and long hill to make me go down to 3rd gear, starts in 2nd gear and drives around corners in 3rd haha gives me about 350 miles with a full gas tank and does all of this with 32x11.5R15 on stock alloy wheels, I don't know seems really good to me

thanks man, if you research enough everything will become pretty straight foward. as far as steering it was pretty simple the only real hard part is moving the steering box foward. which is basically unbolt drill new holes weld on plate and re install.

Can't wait to see this 3.4 swap. It's crossed my mind quite a few times. Would you mind posting total cost, and any troublesome areas? Good luck!

you have a 4 in and they rub? that may not be a true 4 inches then, and the rides not stiff as long as you get a 3 pack plus an overload out of a 2wd

o i could stuff 35s on it if i never had to turn lol but i think alot of it has to do with the back spacing of the rims and they are meaty 33s but they rub just about any turn with evevation change mostly on the bottom of the quarder pannels i have been looking into a 2in lift that is like a boot lift and removing the 3in blocks in the rear and putting 5in with new U bolts anyone ever ran that kind of lift

dont run a 5 inch lift block... do it right and do springs. ive run 33" swampers on a 4 inch lift with no issues get new rims if you need.

i could run those 63s like you did and be able to gain a little bit but i still have to do something about the front and i dont want to run a body lift but i guess i will if i have to

whats the back spacing on your wheels you shouldnt need anymore lift, my 33s were swampers which are close to a true 33, if you measure your tire there more like 31 or 32 inches tall. never had a problem rubbing with my 4inch bracket lif and blocks in the rear.
try pounding down your pinch welds in the front to give yourself anothe half inch or so
people run 35s with no lift (with some minor tubbing)
