Engine swap

Engine is an 83 om617swaps Mercedes turbo diesel. It’s no power house but once I’m done with the mods it should get close to 350-400 ft lb if torq. I’m good with that. Doomsdaydiesel adapters and misc parts to make the swap go easier. Highly reccomended.
Added a John deer(bolt on) alternator for 150 amps vs 50 amps stock. Basically used all doomsdaydiesel parts and instructions. An easy swap.

Exhaust

I used 3” exhaust tubing and a random diesel muffler. I will probably delete the muffler soon due to clearance issues.

Yeah the gearing sucks on road. My max speed is 55. Offroad it’s pretty sweet. I may try and change the gearing later but that’s super expensive since they are not common gears.

Mostly poser shots. All the actual wheeling was not recorded. Did great tho! Need to adjust bump stops for more uptravel.

What did you use for a muffler? I kept all of my exhaust from the donor car to use, but it looks like you found some replacement stuff.

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/flo-13012100 this is the link. Yeah I didn't keep much from the car. Honestly I think I'm going to ditch the muffler. its pretty quiet. The engine is way louder than the exhaust. Not that I want a loud exhaust, I just don't think its needed and I can save 2" of clearance if I take it out.

I've been wondering if it was even worth doing, I don't necessarily want to just hood dump the exhaust, but the car I used ran really quiet.
