Yeah, it can seem weird, yet be something very common, especially in batteries with a 'dying cell/s', ya know? It can begin to drain itself(I'm not wording that right, I'm sure, but someone will correct me, I have no doubt, lol).

So, ...............the hazard switch was NOT on, right???????????? lol

Thank you, Sir,...... now best wishes on the rest.

BTW, Hazards don't take long to drain a battery, as 4 Signals are poppin off at the same time, ya know? Good to know, now you've ruled out at least one thing, right?

My bet is bad battery....... I would put that other battery in, start it up, make sure you're Alternator is pulling 14.25 AT LEAST, then move on to the next testing, the easiest of which is "Turn it off, and with the new/swap battery in there that's good, let it sit and listen for that clicking, then test it every hour to see if you are dropping in voltage.... You should not, ya know?"

Best wishes, bud! that gremlin!!!!!!!!

Have you been running it without the alternator? That would explain a lot........

I'll be back, later, tonight..... Happy Huntin, man.

PS> (You said, the battery was dead......... What is the voltage on it, 86? Could you post that, please? Thanks)

Yep, ....just post up the voltage of the battery that went dead.....

Post up the Voltage when the Alt is done, while running.

Post up the resistance/voltage of a few things that could be shorted out, IF you find that the orig battery isn't toast(you need to do a load test on that battery to make SURE it's toast/a cell or more is done.... This can be done at most auto parts stores. Auto zone used to do it, think they still do...Make SURE you tell them you want to LOAD TEST that battery to rule out a short).....

Post up whatever you find, 86, ya know?

Ask your teacher/instructor, btw, as he's someone you see with frequency, right?

PS> I just want to see HOW dead that battery is that wouldn't start it. If you've volt tested a few when they wouldn't start your ride, .....they're not like, DEAD, DEAD, ... they're just too low to cause initiation of ignition, lights, etc.

Can't remember, now, ... but I think I meant the "voltage produced' by the alternator(w/lights on, then add 'things on', etc., to see how heavy voltage drops while running)... Oh yeah, I was mentioning the battery voltage as well.

Anyway, keep us posted!

Hmmmm, might wanna try a bit larger fuse, too, considering you're running 120+ Amp GM Alternator, right???? (I'M NOT sure on this... It might need to be 30A to protect the majority of the IGN components/relays/switches, etc., ....so just double check with pops, eh?)

Good update, man! Sorry bout the spaghetti soup wiring nightmare.... My last trucks PO was a MEAN PERSON! hahaha... Seriously, I thought, at times, when dealing with the wiring of that truck, ,......."Ok, this guy couldn't POSSIBLY have thought this was a good idea, right????" hehe.

Watch out with that sticker.... might get some staff on here on the edge about that first one, haha.
