Yeah it is looking great! I would lower the spare even with the bottom of the fuel tank. If you feel the departure is to great just pull the tire off and put it back on after. Just my two cents, take it for what it's worth.... lol

It's all completely welded and painted now so I think I'll leave it how it is. For every day driving I'll probably stick a lighter 31 and aluminum rim on there. The side armor ended up really really close to the body after I finish welded it and installed it so I need to bend it out a little, so it doesn't hit the body under flex.

Measured for bumps, build and modified bump stops, added a leaf and small block to the rear. I'm always Getting made fun of for using wood instead of jack stands

Orange Saphhire isn’t really orange anymore, maybe it’s time for a new name. First time moving under its own power in a long time, finally outside enjoying the sun! Beyond excited!

I do snow removal so my work is slow right now, I try to make some time each day to be in the shop, but only after all the important things are done. It's really tough to make any real progress doing a little each day though. I've taken Tuesday and Thursdays off for the last few weeks and tried to keep crossing stuff off the list!
I dont know how many hundred hours I have into this thing over the last year and a half. I hear you though, tough to get motivated sometime, a friend came and helped me with the tranny the other day which is a nice change. What are you building?

Just the things that add up. Got new hydraulics for clutch, radiator I installed in December is leaking (they’re waiting on next shipment), need to dissassemble winch to find problem with drum spooling out, new brake lines for front. Daughter’s car needs a dent pulled. We just had a Nor’easter simp about a foot of snow. Friday was a 0700 to 0400 kinda day. I’m so motivated think i’ll Go take a nap

Todays progress, pulled the bumper off and welded up the tabs for the turn signals, and wired them in using leftover factory connectors and shrink wrap. Then I welded a hook to the stinger to hook the winch cable too and added the winch. Re installed it and it's all good.

Gauge cluster wasn't working, the engine fuse in the kickpanel was blown so I changed it and it worked. But when I put the reverse lights on it blows again so I need to figure that out.

I had a similar problem with gauge cluster lights dying with applying brakes. P.O. spliced a trailer harness into traillughts and wiring was cracked. Would short blow fuse then no taillights nor cluster lights.

I'm really glad you said that because other threads have suggested old trailer wiring too. The reverse light wiring to the tranny looks ok to me, I taped it up earlier in the build.
the truck does have old trailer wiring in it so I'm going To check that out today.

Installed this today, really wish it came with m10x1 adapters but I had to make lines anyway so I guess it doesn't matter.
Got all the copper nickel lines plumbed and hooked up, ran stainless lines along the back axle. And today I got the stuff to do an exhaust.

Mounted right side of engine bay. Really like working with UHMW plastics.
That’s the proportionate valve i’m running, I also installed a line lock.

today I stuck plates on and went for a quick test drive. Brakes are hard with the v6 master and stock booster but can always change that out later. Rear brakes need some adjustment and gotta play around with the proportioning valve.

other than that it went well! I need to swap the alternator, wire up the brake master cap light and some other odds and ends before I do a safety.

I’m concerned about an oil leak above the water pump but I have a few options to try before I do anything major

looks great. Where did you end up putting your rear license plate? I ended up getting a license plate holder c/w led light because my rear tire carrier covers the oem license plate holder.

I had it in the original spot, then I zip strapped it to the spare tire. I'll probably make a little mount for it somewhere on the tire carrier where it's out of the way. On my front trail gear bumper it has a receiver so I'll probably make one of these that I can pull on and off when I run trails.

One of my license plate lights in the tailgate is all busted up, maybe I can extend the wiring from that to add a light where I end up putting. You're right I should have one

Good call, it was the old trailer wiring! Hacked it out and now it's all good!

I just saw a similar 4Runner and I thought it was you! After looking at my picture, it definitely is not you. Cool 4Runner man!
Sorry about the quality. Its from my cheap dashcam.
