Nice!! Man tire looks so much bigger on spare mount compared to on ground.

I know it looks huge! I was thinking the same thing,
It's up high too, 4runners already have a crappy departure angle so I wanted to keel the tire up high.

I have a badass old metal gas cab to mount on it too. Bad news though my wife came into the garage to look today and she said "it looks like a jeep."

.....divorce could be on the horizon I'll keep everyone informed.

LOL!!!

Kinda between a rock and a hard spot. Gotta place it high, I like the look of a bob'd rear but would hate to lose the space.

Where does your tailpipe exit? I dented mine exiting and obstacle had it tucked up higher after having to rerun after shock position changes..

I thought about bobbing 8 inches out, but I don't want to deal with bobbing the top, and then figuring out glass.

I haven't built an exhaust yet. I'm not sure how I'm going to run it, but you saying that makes me think of running up it really high and maybe not running it too far out the side

Seems soft top would be the answer for bobbing. There might be a good solution to cutting and bonding fiberglass of top back together. Would probably need to delete back most windows, juice doesn't seem to be worth the squeeze though.

Might wanna figure exhaust exit into tying side bumper into frame to offer some protection and keep it legal, least most places south of border want it to exit from under rig.

Even with jeep look I like the spare mount. I've got an old marlin bumper which is stout and offers good protection. I tend to reverse by braille on trails but offers nothing for a spare tire solution.

Since you're loosing rear view are you thinking of a camera?

I probably won't do a rear camera, if the trail I'm doing Is a short and difficult one I'll probably just leave the spare off the truck, or unlod my camping stuff and stick it in the back. Once I do half doors I'll have some more visibility. Here's as far as I got today

Sweet!! Got me thinking about building!!! Turning out really good.

Where did you source hinge?

Are you gonna mount CB antennae to it?

Hi-lift mount?

Thanks! Yep I'll do that tomorrow: hi lift mount, and cb whip.
Its build season get to work! Princess auto, is where I got the hinge. It's basically just a 3/4" hitch pin, I drilled through the bumper and placed it in and then I welded the hitch pin on the top and bottom. They sold sleeves that fit that pin too.
Hopefully if I just keep it greased it'll stay clean and rotate. I picked up the side armor today and tacked it in. And then my rear main seal come so I got distracted and put that in and cleaned up the flywheel

I can confirm that. I had sealing issues with my Thorley header and the remflex sealed it right up.

Thanks for the pointer guys, I have a newer stock gasket that I'd used on this header in the past, but if it doesn't seal up well then I know what to get!

Back to the subject on exiting your exhaust, why not exit it through the lower rear body panel? I think I'm going to do that with mine this summer.

I think I will do that after more consideration. Behind the rear wheel and out the side. When I had it cut underneath the truck it was protected but the fumes mount underneath at idle, and especially being emissions exempt here in Canada the fumes aren't the best.

Thanks man! I love Por15 it's awesome, sucks you can't get it in Cali, the fumes are apparently really bad for you though. I forgot to where a mask once and I'm afraid Of the consequences lol
the paint job is definitely a 20 footer, but thanks it looks ok in pictures.

Thanks, you guys are killing it with the commendation. Makes me feel like I actually know what the hell im doing. Just ordered 25ft of copper nickel brake line, and the Wilwood prop valve. Hopefully my clutch is here soon, I messed up the disk on install and had to warranty it, so another is on its way.
