Oh okay, it does seem to help so far. I’ve only done a little wheeling in the snow with it but the shifters don’t seem to move as much as before.
Not too much going on with Orange Saphhire lately, just waiting for spring to hopefully get out on a few trips. Was thinking about doing a spool in the front but I think I’m going hold out for a better option.
So my wife wanted to learn to drive standard so we did a lesson the other day. She did really well but I worried because the brakes really suck and I didn’t want her to have to worry about that especially while learning standard. So first off, I swapped the passenger front caliper because it was sticking. And I researched about doing a dual diaphragm booster. Went into my parts shed and found what I believe to be a dual diaphragm booster from a small diameter 86-87 Turbo pickup or 4runner. Swapped that in today without having to remove any lines which was awesome (thank you copper nickel lines) and bled the caliper. It feels awesome, the front end does really nose dive even after playing with the prop valve but I think it has more to do with my suspension setup.
Brake setup now is dual diaphragm booster from a turbo pickup, V6 master, v6 calipers and the bigger drums in the rear from the IFS width axle, and a Wilwood prop valve
After installing the dual diaphragm you can see the size difference New V6 caliper Full size spare back on
Right now I just left the original interior door handle peices in the door. I don’t have the handle in there now I haven’t mounted it yet. I just pull the bar that’s in there.
I ended up selling my 4runner to a local guy, but I just got an 80 series to build, actually it’s an LX450 so I might start a build thread for that at some point! Glad I could share the progress from start to finish on here though
