85 Pickup. Moab ready?

Just bought a 85 toyota ext cab pickup.
Thought i would post some pictures before i put my own take on it.
I thought it would be kind of cool for everyone to help out with the build.
I am open to ideas and have a couple of unused credit cards.
Whos ready?

Spool in the rear, Lockright in the front.
Guy said the motor was rebuilt 10k ago, put a weber carb on it and took the fuel injection off(not sure why he did that)
new marlin 1200 clutch, rebuilt transfer case with the trail gear 4.7.
I plan on building a bed like Geroge Breakall

Well hell i'd say your ready!
Yeah not sure why someone would do that?
it sound like a good capable rig.
I would figure something out so the carb doesnt flood.

3.4 swap anyone?

When are you going to be in Moab? I'll be out there 3/20 through 3/24. We plan on running some pretty tough trails while we are out there.

Holy crap, I didn't even notice your screen name

Our trail list we want to run is Rusty Nail to Golden Spike to Gold Bar Rim, Behind the Rocks, Green Day, Strike Ravine, and Minor Threat, Moab Rim and Hells Revenge. You around 3/20 to 3/24? So far, it's myself, my brother in law, and a buddy of mine.

Looks like has some potential. 5.29's and duals

What seats are those? I like the side bolsters

Edit: the hand throttle is gonna be helpful, had the TC selector been doglegged? It sure has an extreme angle to it...

Sounds and looks like your truck is way more than just capable.

Well, good news.
Just ordered a 4x8 sheet of aluminum diamond plate
20ft of 1inch & 20ft 1 1/4 square tube
Led lights and blinkers
I'm gonna start on it Saturday, will take pictures and keep everyone updated on the build.
I am going to build some hideaway tool boxes in it, and keep the air tank underneath it.
I am also still looking for fuel injection parts for it so i can make it a 22re (again)
Maybe propane? I am just kind of neverous about carb's and flooding out on me :-(

I saw this rig on a trailer behind an RV headed through Pueblo the other day. They were headed home from the Chile Challenge down in Las Cruces. Clean rig for sure!!

Okay guys, sorry this has taken so long.
The guy i ordered the diamond plate from, took FOREVER.
I got the air tank mounted

And cutting....

Kind of messed up the hole for the box. But should work out fine in the end.

Cutting the gas tank lid and resizing it where it would fit to the side of the diamond plate was a BITCH! Hope fully it looks good once i start to rivet that side down. We put 2 rivets in it tonight, then it got to late. Got most of the pieces cut. Even the side pieces. So tomorrow we are going to rivet, cut the last 2 pieces, get the led blinkers working, and start on the box( Waiting for some sheet metal). I also decided that i want this yota to drive from my house in moab, to the trail without having to trailer it to the trail. So....I am going to build some brackets where i can slide in fenders/mudflaps, pin them in, get to the trail and unpin and take them out. More Pictures to come!!! Stay tuned.

The guys website
http://www.crawlfab.com/index.php?p=2_50
Pretty damn cheap, and looks amazing once installed.
I was on pirate4x4 chatting with those guys and they told me to check out this guy's work.
$225 shipped, but once you buy the bolts your looking at$295 shipped
I have some 15" steel rims sitting around that im going to use.
Maybe paint the wheel itself BLACK? And then the beadlocks Silver? Ugghh i dunno.
HELP

Good looking truck!

Just noticed the square rear driveshaft.... must be nice living close enough to the trails to not need balanced shafts! I hate you! LOL J/K, just really jealous!

Heres an update on the bed so far.

Lets take it outside!

I think the bed makes the truck look 10x better. What do you guys think?
I also had to pull the radiator out and fix a hole in it.
& fix the inner rear seal, which was a piece of cake.
I think its time to go out wheeling.
