Like most 1st Gen 4Runners, the rear window is sloooow up and down. I took it apart, the tracks/guides look good, no broken teeth. I noticed it was a reman motor so it’s been replaced at some time. I took it apart, cleaned up the brushes etc, lubed everything up and it made no difference. I’m going to snag a Toyota motor from the auto wreckers, apparently the left side motor from any Toyota of the same era will work.

I cleaned the inside windows, laid the seats down just because, and found a Toyota pouch with odds and ends, the jack is behind the lh panel.

Hi Johnny,
Curious where u got your swing-out tire carrier.

I removed my rear seat bottoms because I seldom have passengers there, they do not clear my head when sleeping there, and those things weigh 15 pounds each! Then, found a "roll-out memory foam lounger" at Costco. Almost perfect fit (just an inch too narrow) between the wheel-wells. The 1-inch thick firm, white foam is what I use as "bench" pads for rear seat bottoms when I have passengers in the back and double as extra cushion layer for sleeping

the tire carrier is from a pathfinder, PO used plates inside the body panels to mount them, the foam you used is perfect, and I agree, I’ll have to do the same as you and remove the bottoms as I’ll need that room to stretch out.

Pics of carrier, there are plates inside the body panel that bolt to the carrier.
