I really wish I did not scrap my parts truck's frame now. It was rust free.

yea, but now that i will finnally have a rust free box and doors soon its makes it allot more worth it.....first day back in school, i will hopfully finnish one side of the frame and start on the other side.....i am kinda skeptical thoe, i am welding a little less than 1/4 inch steel on the frame with a 110 volt welder, its a gas lincon welder says it can weld 1/4 in high but we will see, if i weld on a scrap peiice of metal i am not getting FULL penitration but i can see allot discoloration on the other side, so thats good right?

ah went for the repair. looks pretty nice.
i dont know if you have a torch but if your using a smaller welder, its beneficial to preheat with a torch and the weld just flows.

thanks, i have three more cab mounts to build, then i can paint my frame and get the cab set back on it....then i am gonna do a cheap man locker in the rear(welding her up) cause i am going to buy my new 22r this Saturday then i am gonna get it cleaned and painted and once thats altogether i can start body filler on the cab....its gonna take a while so i can make it look nice then i can rolle my truck over to autobody witch is just a few doors down then they r going to primer/surfacer it and give it somee nice new 2006 toyota voodoo blue paint then i have a box, doors and hood from cali that i need to go get, or get my dads work to have a big truck driver go pick it up for me

most of you might not know but i am only 16 years old and am still going to school and work allot.....my parents have helped me with NOTHING for this project and once it is done i am gonna swamp the little bugger hehehe

With all the new steel welded in, how do you prevent rust from forming on the "insides" of the box framing and sheet metal? To you go back and drill holes to squirt in something to coat it? That is my biggest concern as I've worked on my truck.

well when i am done...i am getting my frame dipped, and powdercoated all for 100 bucks......and they are powdercoating the inside of the frame rails also......but if you can, try to coat the inside of your frame with some penetrating oil to stop further rust
