A used weber or weber clone will sell like a hotcake too.

You had me mad and sweating cause 520 plus change is to much for a copy

Dallas huh? Hmmm... keep an eye out for a first gen cab if you can. Looking for one from a rust fre zone. Dont care about surface rust. But I'd roll to Texas to pickup a cab or a roller with a clean cab on it. Mind keeping an eye out for me?

They are not as pricey as the Ida's or even the idf's for that matter they used to be around 400 for a set without manifolds now your lookin at 1200 from weber no manifolds and of course no linkage which I'm so happy that this set up came with
Of I had known about copies I might have gone that way I just looked them up and you can get one for around 250
Even having to smooth out castings and do jet work it might be worth it

I paid around 250 for my real weber. Im not saying those carbs are completely useless...there is always a loss in quality and performance when the Chinese knock something off. And as far as I can recall...there are no carbs at all made in america anymore. Spanish weber...or chinese copy. Only ones on market. Even if it says USA...a Chinese person probably cast that...lol.

I found an 88 2WD frame for $200. It has the long bed like my truck. Would this work to replace the frame on my 82' 4x4 SR5? The guy also wants to sell the bed, which is in good shape.

Ah, scratch that then. I'll reweld everything and box it with new steel. Think that will work?

Given the location and extent of your frame damage, I would keep looking for a good frame. If you consider the amount of time, materials and money you would spend on bringing your frame back to a safe standard you'll quickly see that you are better off finding another one. Frames are out there, just have to find one.

I just did a quick search on Car-part.com (Junk yard search site) and there are a handful of shortbed frames (I'm assuming you have a shortbed) all around you in GA, SC, TN and NC. Scope out the site. I haven't had much luck since there are very few junk yards around my way, but it could be a good resource for you.

I also failed to mention, that you haven't even found all the damage yet. I'm certain that you'll end up finding more rust issues as you are fixing what you already know about. Plus, it's not exactly easy or effective to weld to old, thin, rusty metal.

The plan I had in my mind was to go up the frame from the rusted out part until I found good metal and either box to reinforce, or cut the bad section out and weld in good metal. Too much hassle?

Took me 2' on both sides to find good metal or weld able at least so now I'm adding 4xinovations full 4runner cage in my 83 with 6 frame tie ins I should be fine
When I should have spent the time effort and money on a good platform
