Sounds like a plan... And I'll grab one if I see it, CHECK!

Not sure I can help on this one(regarding procedure).... I feel like a "BFH" is usually used, but don't wanna say for sure. I helped my buddy with his but that was 18 years ago! lol... Sorry bud, that's since been cataloged in the "Too old and tired to remember anymore" file! hahaha.

PS> I WOULD ASK ROGER! (4crawler).... He might be mad I'm fronting him out, hehehe... But just ask him in a PM, give him the link here and be patient, he's a very busy guy, I'm sure, ya know? Until then... you can't find ONE PERSON on here or thread pertaining to this procedure??? I'm shocked! Best wishes on this, man... I know you're chuggin along... and it's a lil frustrating to hit a bump.. But keep at it, eventually it will head into the "toyospearo" realm to some degree or another....and you'll be STOKED! lol.

Glad you're keeping it.. But I understood either way, Josh, honest. Gotta live your life how you see fit, ya feel me? lol.

You should have spent the 600$ on a welder and other fab tools so you could have built one yourself, and many other projects for the build. Just sayin.

ok does anyone have some good quialty paint they can recommend? the paint i was looking at is pretty expensive so im thinking single stage paint and primer from lowes or home depot, my girlfriends dad painted his j**p by himself with very little prep and i must say it looks very good, and he also said he would help me if i needed, so thats what im thinking, should first coat soon!

Just IMHO>>>>

I would think of this as one of those "Do it RIGHT and WELL the first time" type things.... totally up to you, you might not be really worried about it right now... But I'm sure you want it to look good. Does he have any peeling? Have you looked close? Either way, whether you use his stuff or another, USE HIS HELP, FOR GOODNESS SAKE, YES! lol.

Maybe ask Brian(swimmerboy).... His Yellow came out well and he had a guy named Mike from on here help him... (Yes, the Yellow one)... However, it wasn't a one coat thing... He did it right. It's holding up well, from what I know, to decent amount of wheeling, mud, east coast drama, etc., ya know? You should find some good answers on this one... I'm just not up on 'paint'... Ian might know some good stuff too.

Best wishes, man!

i took a close up look and his looks really good, and its held up great for almost 2 years, its going to be a daily driver and wheeler so it doesnt need a 500$ paint job, his paint is even, has a good clear coat on it, and you would have thought it cost him close to 400$ nbut it didnt, he used the stuff i was looking at for a total cost of about 75$ and a little prep time, 75$ includes tape and paper too so im prob going that route, should have my bed built soon too, checked in on it today, couldnt grab phone pics but it was looking good, also asked my yard to find me either 5.29s or 4.88s, havent decided yet, if i go with these 35s def the 5.29s, anyways, off to bed guys, its around 2am here in fl, and fyi, dont go see cabin the woods, its the stupidest movies ever!

You're going to be REALLY mad(Not nec. at me,...just in general, lol).... I was there on that 50% sale, weeks ago(when it was STORMING out here, like 6 weeks ago?).... Found a wood grain one in really good condition, ALREADY pulled out.... But I COULD HAVE SWORN I'd remembered you saying, "I've got a buddy at the yard with one" or "I'm building something" or SOMETHING like that... So I left it there. It was still attached by the lighter or a couple things like that... But it was in tact and clean. I'M SORRY, and I shouldn't have even mentioned this, lol... But I WILL keep my eyes open!

I have some pics of a bed that was PERFECT, as well... But it's just totally impractical in the 'shipping' dept., lol.. so I didn't even post it up, solely out of mercy! lol.

I know you're having the bed built... I just wanted to share that I saw one that I guy had built, it was almost like a bed, and the lines were pretty good... He had extending frame rails for a cabover camper, etc..... the thing was sick. I'm sure it would cost a BUNDLE to make, but he didn't wanna share how much he'd spent, lol. It had bed sides and everything, ...but at the top of the bed rails it had 1/4" flat bar with hoops, etc.. He also had a truck style work-cage, like my con-ferr, but built onto support arms that bolted to the bed.... It was a full on expedition dream! lol. But unfortunately, I had no camera and my phone was in the rig, cross the lot... so I just admired it and made mental pics, lol.

Here's another that a guy I know had........

Just asking, SO DON'T GET MAD, lol......

Are you SURE you want to go with 35's??? 5.29's, etc.? Just want you to keep in mind you will lose certain things as you gain. (Top end, hauling arse on the HWY, mileage, ability to park in certain lots/garage maybe?) lol....

Either way, it will look BA! And it's YOUR baby, don't get me wrong... Not trying to do anything but get you thinkin,.... you still have too make the end decision(which you might have already done, totally understand).... Personally, I LOVE the look Spearo has on his, and it's the most practical IMHO. That guy can wheel that thing into some pretty good stuff, lol... As I said, either way I know it'll be BA and I'll love it... More importantly, I just hope you love it 'all around'. IF you decide to go with 32's or 33x10.50's or something like that.... Could you sell those tires you got? Or are they just 'for a while' tires to hold you over(condition I mean, ya know?).

Can't wait, Josh.... THING IS LOOKING GREAT!

Forgot what color you're doing... Stock Charcoal Gray with Strips from that guy on here?

well honestly mark im not sure if 35s will fit we shall see, in the end ill prbo go with 4.88s and 33s with a decent locker in the back, gosh that bed looks good too! but about the wood grain thats fine, yeah i thought he did but it ended up being a 79 non sr5, so it was alot diff and wouldnt work, i just need the radio bezel, and the black dash and my interior will be fine, also a shifter boot for an sr5, things will slowly appear, also stopped in lowes today and started picking out colors, im prob going to go with smoke grey with my black rims and tires, and then paint my flatbed black, also need corner lenses on the headlight bezels, will find them when time comes! and as far as top end speed, its a 4cyl with big tires, theres no such thing as haluing arse! and top end speed? who cares, im not a fast driver, id rather take my time to get there, if its an emerceny i drive me 350 swapped s-10 hahahahaha!
