yeah i got home late so today im gonna pull the air filter and all that, it seems like it got better when i drove it some more but well see!

 

here what i got guy, bought an 85 reg cab shortbed, motor and everything for 400$!!!!!, frames junk, it has a 6in lift and all that, body is in nice shape, sold the motor for 550, with yt-case and all that, took the sfa out for a spare along with all the suspention, for mine, and im takeing the carcuss to scrap tommorow or 400$!!! just cause the beds nice, free lift, and about a 900$ profit? good day i do say so myself.....

well i got the lift and axles back from the scrap yard today, really kicking myself for not getting the 5 speed trans and t-cas, was gonna do duals but i dont see a need for dual cases down here in the south really, gonna hopefu;lly get my rear lift put on tommorow along with starting to tear the front end apart, did get the shortbed off the 85 though so if anyone needs a shortbed with very little rust let me know, 250$ for yota tech members!

 

Wow, ..... how did that happen, if you don't mind me asking? I've had those, "DOH" moments that is, lol..... The 5 Speed is DEFINITELY a plus next to the 4 speed some of the 80's PU's had..... My 83 SR5 had a 5spd... your 82 is 4 spd? Ok, clearly I'm tired and babbling incoherently, lol.... Hopefully you'll comprehend my babble, hahaha.

 

haha heres the deal chef, i was told my 82 was a 4 spd, come to find out its a 5 spd, the 5 spd that was in the 85 had the tranny cross member welded to the frame, very well i might add, it would have taken me another hour or two with a grinder to try and get it out of there and i wasnt thinking so i left it, im sure i could go get it but my buddy who owns the yard might not be very happy, besides he gave me a little over scrap price for the truck without the axles, sold the bed for 300$ yesturday, sold the truck to scrap for 300$ and sold thhe motor fotr 600 after i paid 500 for the truck, so overall a 700$ profit, i feel i can live without the tranny and tcase for that

 

alright guys its been a long few weeks but heres what i got, i started a new job that gives me close to 30-35 hours a week on top of school, and the one day im off i have night school, so ya barely any time for yota, but anyways, so far ive found a bought a bed, its an 85 bed though so no lip but its got some rust, which i plan on patching with the shortbed outback, i also got the frame and floor patched, along with my 2in block put in the rear, just gotta put my front leaf on which im planning on doing today, i got a camera so ill def take pics!

haha yeah mark it sucks, just been busy, and my dd is giving out on me so ive been truck shopping, im thinking of a 2nd gen 4runner with the 3.0, then i can yank it out when it fails (shouldnt be to long with my driving) and dropping the 3.4 in it!

 

YEP, that's probably the easiest swap, at least by what I've 'HEARD'. But anyway, .... I'm most excited by RBX's Toyota Turbo Diesel Swap that's in the works!!!! Looks like it's gonna be a bit of extra work for him... but what isn't? lol.

I still like the first gens with a 1UZ..... But now, seeing that Diesel.... WOW! I WANT 34MPG, TOO! lol.

 

haha yeah mark ive been watching his diesel treat and it has me excited! i would love 34 mpg too but that diesel stuff takes alot of money and patience haha! there was a 2nd gen runner on my cl for 4500 with an uncompleted diesel swap, 5 speed and everything, almost went and looked at it but it was out of my price range so i was like forget it! one day mark one day.... in the mean time got the frame all wire wheeled cleaned and painted, today im redoing my rear life, new ubolts and im painting the axle, friday (payday) im getting some new shocks for sure! , also found a bed! its also free! (thanks SouthernZ!) may need some rust repair but shouldnt be as bad as mine! also got a cam but gotta get a new computer, mines too dang old to download or upload anything......

haha yeah i got my springs just havent had time to throw them in there, right now focused on gathering some cash to do this in one big swoop, in the mean him and sanding it and preping for paint, anybody know some good sites for windsheild trim? mine is cracked and leaks pretty bad, also need the kicker panels on the door or the speakers, not sure where to find them though
