Sorry to hear of your wife’s cancer Hoping for the best for both of you

Thanks for the link, now we can follow each other....
What wheels you have on it now? Is the cab still off? Do you have a lift in it? All these questions are leading up to my favor, can you check from the ground to the top of the round brackets front and back where the cab mounts. Just to the top of that cup is fine. I put Old Man EMU with 2" lift and then bought Trail Gear 5-1/2 shackles and now the frame looks soooooooo high.I know there's nothing on the frame but still looks higher then the 3" I expected. Also the length of your shocks front and back just the way it sits.

Sure, I'll try and grab those for you tonight. Just be aware I have no idea what lift is on it. I think they are Superlift but am not positive. I know putting motor/tranny/tcase/body is going to add a ton of weight. I can lift either end of the rolling chasis off of the ground, there's no way I could do that with everything installed lol.

Haven't really gotten much accomplished, I did order new body bushings and received those. With the nice weather we've been having my time has been spent on the yard. Hoping to get some more work done on the pickup with the extended weekend that's coming up. In preparation I did get the garage all cleaned up.

Here are some pics of what I've been doing in the yard.

Completely relandscaping the front yard, including trying to get it a little more level. Will have fresh grass, barkdust, shrubs and we're thinking a dogwood tree added.

Where we're at as of today

Smaller project in the backyard, 12'x12' remote patio for a fire pit. This will be finished with pavers,

Man, I hate cutting down and pulling whole trees out! It's just miserable work. The yard is looking good though. It's always nice to have a clean slate.
Did you kill the grass first for the backyard patio before removing it? Did it make it easier to remove or it was just for visualization before you started digging?

We planned the spot for the patio last year when I re landscaped the entire backyard so we didn't lay any of the fresh sod on that spot, so the grass was mostly weeds there. I did spray but only because I was moving the removed dirt to the front yard and didn't want anything growing up there. Its been a lot of hard work, but should be worth it when its done! I like to call it sweat equity lol

I'm jealous of your double car garage lol. I'd do some flowering full sun shrubs, a rock path that leads to the back yard, and some sort of central tree/rock garden. My excellent paint skills lol

Yeah, well I di have some kind of plan,
That's my 2 gar garage for Truckie, nothing else in there but some ground cover waiting to be installed, for about 2 years now
Now, if you really want to be jealous, take a look at my 30x40x16 in the back yard!

Hey, I bought this house "because" of that garage!

Small update. I was out powerwashing and decided to turn it onto the cab of the truck. It took off some of the moss and dirt, but none of the nasty spray paint its had over the years. So I decided I'd try some Dollar store oven spray which I used to clean engine bay/motors/trannies etc. Worked like a charm taking off a lot of the spray paint. Its a nasty chemical so I only leave it on a minute or two before spraying it off with a ton of water. It did a good job of taking off at least the black paint. I'll have to try some acetone and elbow grease to get the rest off. I'm really hoping to save the paint as I love this color!

Here is what it looked like before:

and after:

Regarding your 95 2wd fuel tank being a direct fit for a first gen short bed. How many gallons does it hold? Thinking about doing this if it holds more fuel than the original. Thanks

from what I remember they are the same size tank
there is a thread (toyospearo maybe) about stuff a long bed tank in the space of a short bed tank.
I thought about doing it on my 81 Trekker but rear axle clearance was going to be tight

No this project is not dead! Doing my best not to have one of those project threads that just dies off!

I've been finding a few minutes here and there to get in some wrench time. I got all of the steering components off of the frame and axle (minus arms) to make room for the hy-steer which I still need to purchase.

So then I moved onto the knuckle rebuild (because I already purchased this from Marlin)

Yumm axle grease gear oil stew

The large axle nuts are completely marred from years of PO using punches to spin them off. Thinking I'll get some replacements to put it back together.

Made it this far last night, decided to let it soak in degreaser to help with clean up.

My immediate plans are to finish the axle tear down, including completely removing it, sand, prime and paint it and the leaf springs. Then reinstall and rebuild the front knuckles. HOPEFULLY, this will get done this month, but only time will tell lol.
