NO engine yet, hopefully it will be here tomorrow..

 

When I painted the red stripes they were a flat red... So I decided to clear coat the valve cover in hopes of the red would brighten up..... Well the silver wrinkled.. I think it looks pretty neat, so I decided to leave it... What do ya think??

My engine came today........... I really really wish I wasn't working to night.. At least I have the next 2 days off....

 

Well I tried to rotate the picture, twice, thank you photobucket.....

Any how if you tilt your head to the right, you will see it is a crushed box one a pallet..
The engine looks good tho..
I also picked up a water pump, starter, power steering hose, and ordered new spark plugs...

 

I had that same thing happen to me on a valve cover doing the exact same process (duplicolor high temp clear over duplicolor high temp color). I was absolutely pissed when it happened after all the prep work that I had to do so I went in for the night. Came out the next morning it was perfectly flat! Can't explain it, but I can prove it - It's the valve cover that I'm using in my build. You can't even tell that it used to look exactly like your's. I'd recommend leaving it alone and seeing what happens over night.

 

It was still wrinkled the other day...I will look in the morning.. I used Rustoleum Hammered silver and the clear I have had for years.. Not even sure what brand it is...

 

Working tonight?! You sound sick to me.... LOL Whenever I get parts in, I go straight to the garage!

You could have at least unwrapped it and showed us!

 

Believe me, I wanted to come down with Yoda-idous in the worst way...But if I took off tonight I would lose my built in OT... and I need the OT to pay for my addiction..

 

So why are you on the computer right now and not in the garage????

Quick up date....The engine is sitting in the truck.. Taking a break to eat and spend a little time with my Girlfriend, haven't seen her all week.. I will be back in the cave shortly.. I am still waiting for the air injection block off plates from LCE.... hope they get here tomorrow....

Hall asked me when we could put it in the truck... Very frustratedly I told him when ever the clutch gets here... He got a phone call and stepped out of the cave, came back in 3 minutes later with the clutch....HAPPY DANCE...

In went the engine...

I really missed that truck for a while.. A kid bought it and thrashed the poop out of it..
