yes sir! i think the 4x4 stuff is a little more for me. were you able to get anything else done on the trekker this weekend?

thanks again guys. looks like im going to take the rest of the day today and tomorrow off work since its freezing here and get some more work done on the truck.

nothing special to report today, just a little more progress on the frame. its been freezing here the last couple of days. here's a pic of my 85 my brother and i did previously. look close and you can see my mr2 parked underneath it.

Looks like nice start so far. My 83 4x4 came with a split bench with thte center console. I found another bench seat at the wrecking yard for fabric repairs and a replacement console froma friend. I do miss the head rests, but like the original fabric look.

thanks! i am leaning toward the bench seat. i was thinking about a hybrid and welding the headrests onto the bench. still not sure.

That sounds like a cool idea. If you don't have access to head rests, I have a couple of extra factory 79-83 sets.

much appreciated. i've got a set of factory buckets w/ headrests. just still so far off from interior work. maybe by then i will have decided which way to go.

thanks. i think the greatest thing about the forum is the feedback from everyone else. ideas, suggestions, critiques, etc. you never know when your gonna make a left turn on a project from someone's idea and it turns out even better than the original plan. in my case it will be often since my wife says i am horrible at planning , and fairly new to total frame off restorations. tony

the rear end is done and primed. i did learn a good lesson today. sand blasting in shorts is a really bad idea.

so are you using that engine , or going back to the original "ish" year engine ?
