Whats up...

Picked this up about a week ago.. its a 1983 Toyota pickup 4x4. has a 22R backed to a 5spd. On the Drive home it over heated and stopped to check it out and it it was billowing smoke from the back sid of the block... around the area where the head and block mate... so at the moment it is sitting in my garage in pieces but here is the only pic i have on this computer there will be many more to come.

 

Nice find, but what's with the misalignment of the bed and cab? Dent, or bent frame? The nose looks pretty clean, as they come. Any rust?

think it may be angle of pic.... cab is surprisingly sound... bed has a quite bit of rust and frame has some bad spots.... the paint job is going to go as soon as i get to the point of worrying about it lol.

 

 

Thats all the photos i have thus far... and is still sitting with head pulled off and all. once i get it back running i will get somemore pics of the frame and what not

 

Well here is a brief update.. finaly got caught up on some sleep and had some energy to start on the 'yota. The other day i went and pulled a radiator out of a '82 pickup at a junkyard. Took the head to have it fluxed, helicoiled, and planed and picked it up this morning and started on the reassembly. got as far as getting the head on , cam in and caps torqued, and stopped at the timing chain onto the cam. This weekend will be hectic as i have to work saturday and currently been up for 20hrs and still have a few more left til i go home...


one piece of info i can give.... if you join the air force, and find out you are going to be stationed at ellsworth..... break your leg or some ˟˟˟˟... lol
