Can anyone tell me how to take out the radio bezel on one of these trucks? the part that has the radio, heater controls, ashtray, ect. on it? I'm trying to put in a new headunit and some toggles and stuff, and I can't take the panel off because of the steering wheel/the wires connecting the stock radio and heater controls.. Do I have to remove the whole dash to disconnect the wires? Thanks

Is a butt I busted mine up but I did get it out, you have to unhook all the HVAC controll cables and then it will slide right on out.....edit 1 minute after original post....LOL....On the fiberglassing the dash pad I acomplished it and it was pretty easy just be patient, I used the fiber glass stands from wal-martand resin I the the stranded stuff b/c you can pull in appart and lay in down and not see a line where you stopped and started.....then I fiberglass bondo'd......it was to old and pitted, then I used regular body filler, and then glazing putty to get it really smooth all to texture it before I painted it......but it looks great and gives the ellusion of being soft....

here is a picture

Not much of an update for the longbed, planning to get my 35/11.5/15 Mickey Thompson's on within the next few weeks (Does anyone run this tire size??)

Here's a couple recent pictures, the toolbox is back in (makes the truck look way better IMO) but I had it out to refinish the interior for these pics.

Planning on turning the 4Runner into a mild expedition rig, for camping and trails.

Future Exterior Mods:
  • Low profile Roof Rack (or modify the OEM one)
  • Roof lights
  • Snorkel Kit
  • New paint- I'm thinking a nice Tan.
  • ARB or similar Front Bumper
  • Winch
  • Rear bumper

Future Interior Mods:
  • Power Invertor
  • Custom Dash (inclinometer, extra gauges, GPS mount, ect.)
  • Drawer System/ Sleeping Platform

Unfortunately, no. I ran out of funds.

I've been trying to track down a straight, rust free long bed on Craigslist, the few I've found have had flaky sellers.. Once I find one I'm gonna be taking it to a buddy's shop to start tearing down and start addressing the issues it has, get some new paint on it, and start driving it.
