Been a while, a bit of progress

Used sections from a donor cab to fill in rusted spots

Primed and ready for glass re-installation. Got lucky and got the glass out without damaging it.
Floor Damage

So Far...bed comes off again this summer and full paint job to follow.

81, had it a couple of years. It had lots of rot in the windshield flange and the pillars. Found a donor cab and the seller let me cut it up on his site rather than having to haul it home and deal with the carcass at my house. Still have little leak at around the new windshield gasket, I don't think the place did it correctly. I have to pull the windshield again to do the headliner, so we'll make sure it gets seated next time. Is there a caulk or sealer I can use with the gasket?
Anyway, fixed the pillars, windshield flange, and floor. Painted the cab (1st time spaying). I've welded before in a previous job, but never did autobody repairs, so I got sills to develop for sure.
Painted the dash and this year I'll work on the bed Straight out of the can (Camaro Hugger Orange, I was inspired at the Tacoma WA car museum)

Nice patch work, much better than throwing bondo at it. Looks good!

Just put in bucket seats from a 98 Mazda 626. Little bit of mods to the base and mounting holes. Much more comfortable.

Removed some rot and damage from tailgate frame.

Peeled the skin off a donor tailgate.
Welded the new skin onto the frame along the entire perimeter. Welded on a new top section above the handle from a donor bed sidewall section. All that is left is the top plate. Still have some cleanup to do but better than what I started with.

Old bootie
New one. Finally got some wire harness booties, not sure of them yet, they don’t have that snap in groove/notch where they meet the metal. I put a lttle black caulk on it to help seal it. We’ll see next time it rains, which won’t be a long wait here
