WTB: Head for 22R

Looking for a head for 22R, it will be going to the machine shop when I get it for a checkup, etc. I need a valve job on my existing head, but I can't afford the downtime, so I'm looking to buy one I can either slap right on or one that is structurally sound enough to take to a machine shop and get a valve job. 22R is an '87, so anything 1985 up should fit as I understand.

I have a just refinished head off a 87 22r(22r and 22re heads are different, the intakes wont bolt up)
The head might have 500 miles on it,the previous owner thought the head was bad(water in coolant)so had the head done, come to find out its the timing chain through the timing cover
The truck has sat since.
You can tell it was a reman head when they parked it
200 plus shipping from 47331
It will be complete with valves and springs in place, just bolt your rockers on and go

I'll probably wait and see here a bit. The truck is up for sale right now and I have a few people lined up to look at it. If this round washes out, then I will probably put a new head on it.

I've got a warped head from an '86 22R. It'll need to be milled (pretty cheap), but you can have the loaded head (valves, springs, rockers, cam) for $50 + shipping (from 92585).

p.s. The 22R and 22RE heads are interchangeable, with no problem bolting on the intake. In fact, if I hadn't personally torn down both engines, I couldn't tell you which of my heads was which. Just be sure to swap the cam out.

Nope; they're the same. Externally, internally, even in the dark.

Attached are pics of both. One head is from an '86 22RE and the other is from an '86 22R.

Early 22R heads were different, but we're not talking about heads that old.

I actually ended up selling the truck that the head was for, so it's a bit of a moot point now. I think the new owner is just going to invest in a case of oil from Costco and keep running it as is.

22R and 22RE are indeed the same though, RE just has a blockoff plate where the mechanical fuel pump would go.

Yeah, I saw that you were selling it. I just figured I'd go ahead and clear up some bad information that's floating around. Congrats on the sale.
