For Sale in Upland, CA
1997 Toyota 4Runner SR5
170k miles
3.4L V6
5 speed transmission
Toyota tow hitch
Front Old Man Emu 881 coils with Old Man Emu N91S shocks
Rear Old Man Emu 891 coils with Old Man Emu N86 shocks
285/75-16 Nitto Terra Grappler AT tires with approx 10k miles on them
Land Cruiser wheels with appox 5k miles on them
Bud Built kick up skid plate
Bud Build belly skid plate
TJM-17 front bumper
(2) Hella 500 driving lights
Lock Rite locker in rear axle
Alpine 6.5” front door speakers
Boston Acoustic 5.25” rear door speakers
I bought the truck with 136k on the clock. Since owning it, I’ve changed the oil every 5k miles with Mobil 1 and a Toyota oil filter. The timing belt, idler pulleys, water pump and drive belts (all Toyota parts) were replaced at 160k. The clutch was replaced at 159k. The front pads and rotors were replaced at 162k (Toyota parts).
The truck drives very smoothly. The interior is very clean and looks great. The body is straight but does have some scratches in the paint. Don’t let that scare you though as the truck really does look very nice, especially after a wash. I use it as a daily driver and to explore in. It is very capable vehicle both on and off-road. I average about 22 mpg on the highway. It’s been a great truck and has never broken down. I am selling to buy a Jeep Wrangler.
The truck is financed through Capital One Auto. They currently have the title. It will take them approx 3-5 to mail the title once they've received the payoff.
I am available Monday-Friday after 6pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.
$6,500

**Truck does not have roof rack mounted any longer. I'll throw it in with the deal, though it does need new mounts.
I also have a really nice sleeping platform built by fellow member Tim (SOAZ). I'll sell that for an additional $200.
Thanks for looking. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Yeah, I went from a Jeep to a Toyota and am ready to go back. There's something about a soft top and a solid axle that excite me.
BTT.

1984-85 toyota 4runner solid axle with rollbar in back and there are soft tops to buy for them and or make one? Or you could just axle swap any 86-89 4runner to solid. A jeep......is.....not.....a.....good.....choice.... .. but what ever floats your boat. A jeep breaks so much you just don't under stand. but hey its your deal i'm just talkin the talk lol. nice rig and good luck with the sell though.

DinoV, sorry I am not interested in a trade.
As for the Jeep breaking down, my last Jeep never left me stranded and I don't expect my new one to either. I know it's heracy to leave the Toyota family and go to Jeep, but it's what I want to do.

Yea well if you do get a jeep i would not ever come back to this site again just for safety reasons lol. Besides how many jeeps you see go 300,000-400,000 Miles on stock everything? Not many i'll tell you that....... on the other hand its extremly common for a toyota unless its very very very neglegted and evn then it takes alot.

I hope to not have to keep anything 300k miles. If the new Jeep goes as far as this 4Runner has, I'll be happy.
Now...back to the for sale ad!

Bump for a great deal!
Give it a rest haha. There are jeeps that do things much better in stock form than toyotas do.
I'm selling my Land Cruiser right now to buy a Jeep SRT8. I don't know if any stock yota that can do the same things a JeepSRT can...
Same with the Rubicon, show me a stock - NEW - yota with F/R solid axles and lockers....
Jeeps aren't that bad. Some break down, but my friend has 3 Grand Cherokees with over 200k miles on them, they're still haulin!!
Yotas will always be great, but jeeps will too. To each their own; but who would want to have an old 80s Yota canopy top with a solid axle when you can just get a new Rubicon? If the Yota is a strickly trail rig then ok, that's understandable. But I like to drive my rigs on the road as well = Rubicon.
BTW - i've had a SAS'd Tacoma before too - and as a daily, it sucked haha

Sorry for the delay Dan, I just checked in here for the first time in a couple of days. I've been busy with work (we're getting a lot of new cars in this week and everyone is a little stressed).
It's supposed to be 3-5 days for the registration according to Capital One. I am willing to do whatever I can to expedite the process. I'm still trying to find some time to get the interior shots. By the time I get home it's dark and that's no good for interior shots. I'll call you as soon as I get a free moment.
Now, back to work...
