Car Trailer

Mine is a brand new 18' foot Better Built...all metal, slide out ramps, cab electric brake controller, spare tire, weighs 2200 lbs and has a 7000 lb GVWR so the 85 goes on there easily and my gear. Retails about $2750.
I'm sure you could build one cheaper or buy cheaper trailers, but I didn't want any trouble getting it registered or have to "fix" anything on it for a long time. I'd get a 30' gooseneck now but I don't have a place to store it without really pissing off my neighbors.

Yeah, got a quote of $2295 for a 18' with a 10,000 GVWR. Just e-mailed them for a 16' with a 7,000# GVWR. I think my 4Runner will fit on a 16' won't it, or should I just get the 18'?
I'd really like to spend under $1500.

Interested in knowing what a built '85 weighs.

GVWR 7000 lbs for the trailer
Trailer weighs 2200 lbs
That leaves 4800 lbs for a vehicle
I can easily tow my 85 4Runner on the trailer, as it weighs less than 4800 lbs...but not my Dad's Silverado, as it weighs more than 4800 lbs.
Make sense?

Gotcha. The trailer I was just looking at with a wood deck and in 16' was 1950 pounds. That would leave 5050 pounds for the 4Runner-cutting it close!
Just found an 18', metal deck, with 7000#GVWR and electric brakes on both axles for $1700-I'm gonna call about it.
