1993 Diesel 4runner FS, Elocker

Howdy folks!

Unfortunately, I've got to sell my 4runner. I've just got to have a pickup truck for work and don't want to wreck the 4runner treating it like a truck.

Anyway, here's the dealio:

It's a 1KZTE drivetrain out of a 1995 Hilux. 3.0L I4, turbo diesel, 4 spd auto. This thing pumps out some torque. I've gotten 22 mpg with it on the interstate, but it wasn't quite broken in at that point and I was going 75.

4.10 gears, so it turns about 2200 rpm at 65 mph. Elocker out of a TRD Tacoma in the rear. It's amazing how well this thing does off road with the Elocker. :sombrero:

I got the truck with 36,000 KM's on the ODO. The importer apparently used ether to start the truck, which resulted in a cracked piston about 200 miles after I got it in my 4runner. At the time, I didn't think I would ever have to part with it, so I rebuilt the engine with all genuine Toyota parts ($1200). New pistons, new rings, etc. I've put about 10,000 KM's on it since without an issue. It runs like a top. 3" exhaust as well. Almost every imported diesel drivetrain has something like 120,000 km's on it...so IMO it's nice to know this engine (and trans) are very low mileage units.

Other additions: new shocks, custom front and rear bumpers, brand new 235 85 16 tires on Tundra wheels, new wheel bearings, rotors, very nice double din radio/cd unit w/ IPOD connection. Aisin hubs, OME rear coils to raise the rear, OME rear shocks, pry more that I'm forgetting.

Everything works. Power windows, locks, AC, cruise, power antenna, rear window, etc. The only problem is that the paint is faded (typical Toyota) and there is a dent on the drivers side and pass side door.

The interior is spotless, clean grey seats, no cracks in dash (covered) and the carpet is clean as well.

Elocker and idle up switch added in the dash like factory.

Price is $13000, OBO. Located in Temecula, Ca. It's 100% legal for CA, you don't have to ever go to a smog station again with this truck.

PM works best for now...

Thanks!

Also, I forgot to add that it's got a custom HUGE front mount intercooler. Works great!

Can work a deal with potential buyers on shipping/delivery as well.

Yep...I've been dragging my feet a bit as I've got a Utah expedition planned for this week. It's for sale after I get back though...

I'll get some good mileage figures on the trip with it.

Where in Utah will you be traveling? I'd love to have a look at your rig and am only one state away (my usual state of confusion not withstanding). Consider me an interested buyer...

Well, I just got back from a run to Utah's Canyonlands and back. It was a killer trip.

I took mileage numbers at each fill. From my numbers, 60-65 will get 24 mpg. 70 will get 22 mpg. 80-85 will get 19 mpg. I drove a tank at each speed. AC use also seems to have a .5 mpg negative effect, if that. I spent a day in 4x4 (high and low) and got 20.5 on that tank, which also involved a bit of 55 driving on back roads.

I also found that there is not a hill between San Diego and Moab that requires this rig to shift out of overdrive. She just cranks up the boost and plows up the hill. Even coming back there were 50 mph head/crosswinds and still, no need to downshift.

Thats a nice rig man, I can't imagine the work that went into getting that thing to be completely legal here in CA. It's a great deal for someone.
