1988 4runner for sale. Pics. NY Price?
Really dont want to do this but.......
looks like the move is forcing me to sell my 88. The truck has a freshly rebuilt 22re. New cam, timing kit, gasket kit, oil pump. Runs great, only been driven down the road and back since rebuild. Body is in excellent shape. I painted it last week with Interlux Brightside Flag Blue (link with pics) I did not paint the drivers side front fender, in hopes to find another one. This fender has a dent and small rust spot. This is the only rust spot on the truck, pic below. The underside of this truck is in excellent shape. Frame very solid, minimal surface rust. Shocks were replaced about 20k ago with Rancho 5000. Tie Rods, idler arm, pitman arm done at same time. Aisin manual hubs. Truck was brought from NC last year, so has not seen a NY winter. 5 speed manual shifts great, new gear oil with engine rebuild. Before engine rebuild, truck had 249k on body, chassis. I also redid the interior, put in new carpeting, and cd/mp3 player, but did not install speakers. More info of buildup/background.
Rust on drivers side front fender.
As for the PRICE...............I Don't Know. What could I get for it?!? Just looking at other rigs, in similar condition, I was thinking 4500. Starting high? Ive only seen 2 or 3 1st gen 4runners around Central New York, and they were rusted right out. I dont know, let me know what you think.

Truck also has new Wabfab clutch and clutch master cylinder put in during engine rebuild. Rear gate, window works well.
**Truck is currently not registered or inspected. I just got it in April, and have yet to put it on the road. I do have clean NY title. I dont see any reason why truck would not pass inspection.
Any input on price?

i would say in the low 2's if you are lucky. also do you have proof of the rebuilt motor? everyone selling a vehicle says it has a " rebuilt motor " but have no proof of it. if you cant provide proof i wouldnt expect much for it either because you basically have a truck pushing 300k miles that is pretty stock and in decent shape. not trying to be negative just trying to be honest.

i tried selling my 85 a few months back and was only getting offers of $3500... i have a new motor in it with 2k on it 135k on body.. brand new 33" mtz's and 4.88 gears.. i live in syracuse NY... it sucks because the truck is worth alot more in the owners mind... thats why i just decided to keep it for now

I do have proof of rebuild, reciepts, parts, ect.
Like I said, I'm moving, so I have to sell. I wish I could keep it, but it really isnt an option. I am open to offers........

I also would say in the low 2's. Sorry, but that's what I think you can sell it at. I also tried selling my '89. I was looking to get $3200 but no one had any money. It's really clean, w/no rust.
There was recently a 3rd gen in your area. A 2000 w/front and rear arbs and he couldnt sell it for $4500 I think. Shame. I woulda bought it if it was closer. Good luck with your sale.

I will come get it and keep it for you here in Maryland if you decide to come back it will be here or you can take payments for it from me while it sits here and I finish my 3.4 swap into my 2nd gen just a thought i would hate to see it go to waist

The closer and closer it gets.....I start to think about things like that, as others have offered.......
